Greetings friends, this is my first thread on heroesfire. I am also new to game, playing only few days. Already owning Valla, I plan to buy some assassins: Jaina, Kael'thas (when his price falls), Kerrigan. I wonder which one to buy first? Help!

Kinda depends on your playstyle a bit.

Jaina and Kael'thas are very similar - they are bursty mages. Jaina has a better early game while Kael'thas turns into a monster post-16, but is pretty mana hungry early with lower damage. Jaina scales just fine but she doesn't spike late into the game without Wintermute which is a risky talent choice.

Kerrigan is another beast altogether. She probably has the highest skill floor of any Hero in the game (That is to say, she requires the most practice before you can even use her and not look stupid), since her combo is difficult to master.

Once you do though, she's a ganking powerhouse and can turn teamfights with a simple W E combo. She does fall off pretty hard though - she's amazing early and mid game but her lategame isn't so great. It's not so much she does poor damage, but your opponents will have a lot more tools to fight you later, such as shields, bonus CC, more burst, etc.

If I were you I would wait a day or two before purchasing a new hero, because a new free rotation is coming tomorrow (in a few hours), which will include : Raynor, Muradin, Anub'arak, Brightwing, Kerrigan, Nazeebo and The Lost Vikings, so you probably should try out all these heroes (or at least the ones you have yet to try) before you settle on what hero to buy.

Where do you go to view the next weeks rotation?

Also, of those 3 heroes, it depends on your playstyle and what you expect to be playing with.

Kerrigan can be a monster when played correctly, and a well-placed pull+stun combo will win a team fight. However, she takes a lot of practice to time and land the combo through the enemy dodge attempts. Her trait is made to keep her in a fight, as it converts damage into a temporary shield.

Jaina is a very burst damage hero. When you combo her abilities together it buffs their damage to such a level that it will leave just about anyone extremely weak and kill squishies. However, she has no escape or life-sustain, and relies on positioning and slows to stay alive.

Kael'thas is similar to Jaina, lots of damage, squishy, and no escape. Unlike Jaina, he doesn't slow the enemies as much, with only one ability that CCs. However, his trait allows for extremely high damage combos off his abilites, such as double bomb + flamestrike (which applies a bomb) with a stun to keep them in place. His combos do require more precision in their process.

As for their ults, Kerrigan has an ultralisk that can run faster than enemy heroes, but only attacks one at a time, or an aoe ability that lasts for several seconds. When used in the middle of an enemy team, the aoe ult can generate a massive amount of shields that allows Kerrigan to stay in the fight. Jaina can choose between a water elemental, similar to ultra but chases by slowing instead and is ranged, and a ringed root that strikes once. Both are used to combo with her spells, either by keeping the enemy in them or by applying the chill trait so they take more damage. Kael'thas' ults are a bit different. They tend to have smaller effects, but in return they a much much shorter cooldown. Phoenix can be used to lockdown an area, but lacks chasing power. Pyroblast takes 2 seconds to cast, but once cast will hit the target. It is canceled by people running out of range or Kael being stunned before he finishes the cast.

What hero you play depends fully upon your playstyle, all we can do is provide you with information on their playstyle.

Hi Stojkooooo,

I have to agree with LevasK, I would also wait for the free hero rotation before you buy a hero and play around with what is free. I have surprised myself with what characters I like in Heroes. In most mobas I liked to play hard supports, but in Heroes I have found myself loving specialists and warriors.

I guess I'm trying to say because Heroes is so much different than most other mobas we have been used to for so long, you gotta try everybody, and experiment with all the talents too.

Kerrigan is a lot of fun if you're looking for a challenge! As other people have said she does have a pretty high skill floor, but she's worth it once you can get her combo going. Positioning is everything though, as while her passive allows her to stay in combat for a while, ultimately she has no good escape. She's got good burst damage, but if you're going in, unless you have some teammates there to follow up, you have to be going in to kill - once you blow your cooldowns you're a sitting duck. That said, in a team-fight, a well-landed Kerrigan combo will let your allies absolutely steamroll the opponents.

Go at least try them in the store first though!!
Come check me out on stream! I'm on several times a week, and will be streaming mostly Heroes of the Storm. http://www.twitch.tv/littlered5

Are you just looking for assassins? You may find this post from the Blizzard heroes forum useful.

Maybe some one that is easy to play like the Demon Hunter

Also, once I get enough experienced players to fill out this survey you are welcome to use it to suggest heroes and roles you may like.
