Does it matter which player or team placed the tumor for heroes/minions to benefit from it if they can?

Of course, AOE attacks will destroy enemy creep but it's not obvious whether or not my hero benefits from creep put down by the other team's Zagra. Mainly I just want to make sure I'm not inviting defeat with poor Creep placement.
