First Kings of the Storm Tournament Concluded
Alan LaFleur | April 28th

A familiar face to the League of Legends tournament community, Matt "CyaSteve" MacNeil, ran his first tournament in Heroes of the Storm this past weekend. The tournament was the first in what he is hoping will be a weekly event.

The tournament featured a lot of well-known players from different competitive games. The team, Best in the Alpha, had the StarCraft 2 professional player, LzGamer, along with many prominent community members: Wolf, Tasteless, and lilsusie. Another former professional player from StarCraft that made it into the tournament was IdrA, whose team made it to the semifinals. The winning team, IcyHots, featured top level League of Legends players from San Jose State University: ArcZSlash, Pandasaurus, ExecutionerKen, Sai, and Jakiro. IcyHots didn't drop a game in the tournament and seemed to be on a different level than everyone else. If you want to watch what they did, Pandasaurus streamed all of their games.

Another team that streamed was PALS. Click here for DarkDolphin's perspective of their tournament games.

The tournament director, CyaSteve, posted a graph from the picks and bans in the tournament:

As you can see Raynor and Kerrigan were the main focus of bans throughout the tournament. Tassadar, Malfurion, and Illidan were the three most picked.

Did you watch or play in the tournament? What did you think of it? How about the picks and bans data, is that what you would've expected?
