The action is underway at gamescom 2015, and we’ve got all the latest news from the Nexus. We announced four new Heroes, an exciting new Battleground, and more—so let’s get to the details!

Kharazim

As the Eternal Conflict rages on, a new defender of Sanctuary prepares to enter the fray. Kharazim, Monk of Ivgorod, the first support character from the Diablo universe, will bring inner peace to his allies—and pain to his enemies. He’s a mobile melee Hero who can specialize in different paths by choosing one of three traits via his talents. Kharazim can select Iron Fists to gain bonus attack damage, Transcendence to heal himself through melee combat, or Insight to restore mana and find a balance between both offensive and defensive roles.

Infernal Shrines

Kharazim won’t be the only new addition coming from Sanctuary. Infernal Shrines is a three-lane Diablo-themed Battleground featuring three shrines that will periodically gather power. Teams can unleash this power by activating a shrine, defeating its guardians, and summoning a devastating Punisher to fight for them. These powerful bosses will spawn with one of three deadly affixes—Arcane, Frozen, or Mortar— and will hunt down nearby enemy Heroes as well as pushing the lane closest to their shrine.

Rexxar

Charging into the brawl from Azeroth is the legendary beastmaster, Rexxar, and his loyal bear, Misha. He’s a unique ranged warrior, who calls on his ferocious companion to follow him around the battlefield and attack his foes. Misha is integral to Rexxar’s gameplay, harassing enemies, absorbing damage, and stunning enemy characters with a targeted charge ability.

Artanis

If you’re the kind of player who prefers warriors that get up close and personal with their enemies, Artanis may be just the Hero for you. The leader of the Protoss will soon join the fight as the first StarCraft warrior, and he’ll be bringing some heavy hitting abilities with him.

Medic

Please state the nature of your medical emergency for the Medic, a new ranged support Hero from the StarCraft universe that we just revealed during our live broadcast at gamescom 2015! The Medic is gearing up to report for duty in the Nexus, and bringing her trusty Medivac with her from the Koprulu Sector. If you love lending a hand to your allies, and keeping your team alive through a fight, then the Medic may be a good fit for you.

Dynamic bundles and Ranked play

During our live-streamed show at gamescom on Friday, Game Director Dustin Browder and Lead Producer Kaéo Milker discussed several additional updates and improvements coming to Heroes of the Storm with our next patch:

Whether you traveled to Cologne, Germany in-person, tuned in to our live stream, or followed our announcements on the official Heroes site, thank you for joining the Heroes team at gamescom 2015! We hope you'll have as much fun playing with the new Heroes, Battleground, and other game improvements, as we've had creating them. That's it for Heroes at gamescom this year, so until next time, we'll see you in the Nexus!
