Well, his abilities are not hard to use per say, but he's very fragile, so playing him does take some finesse. I don't believe he's beyond new players, but if you are new to MOBAs, heroes like Arthas, Muradin, Sonya, could prove easier to play, since they are more durable.

MMR=Matchmaking Rating is a rough estimation of your skill, as you win more games you gain MMR and the system tries to match you with players of similar MMR/Skill. As far as I know, it only takes into account your w/l, but don't quote me on this and as for it's importance, well it's a rough numerical representation of your skill at this game, so it's only as important as people think it is. (If some of this doesn't make sense, let me know and I will try to elaborate)
