Garona Halforcen [WIP]

Grand Master of the Assassins' Guild

Role : Melee Assassin.
Team Role : Roam Ganker, possible sustain fighter (if specced right).
Means of Damage : Auto Attacks, Abilities.
Crowd Control : Minor without talents.
Mana Bar : OFF.

Difficulty : Hard

Stats :
Health : 900 (+145/level)
Health Regen : 1 (+.5/level)

Energy : 100 (Does not scale with levels)
Energy Regen : 5/second.

Damage : 30 (+5/level)
Attacks per Second : 2.00
Damage per Second : 70 (Level 1) / 160 (Level 10) / 260 (level 20)

Combat Trait

1
Specialization : Combat
Garona gains +20% health scaling.
Whenever Garona attacks the same target for 2+ times, she gains 1 stack of "Know your Foe", which grants her +8%% auto attack damage and +3% ability damage against that target, up to 5 stacks. Each stack lasts five seconds, attacking the target refreshes the duration. Landing an attack on another target resets those stacks to 0.

Unlocks the Combat effects for your abilities, and the Combat Specific talents.

At level 10, grants you the Poisons Heroic Ability.
2
Specialization : Assassination
Garona's first basic attack against a hero deals 100% more damage if she hasn't dealt damage to that hero in the past 5 seconds.

Garona's basic attacks deal 15% more damage to heroes when the "First Strike" bonus is not applied.

If her First Strike effect is done while the enemy does not see her, add 50% damage to the bonus.

Unlocks Assassination effects for your abilities, and Assassination Specific talents.

Unlocks the Deadly Strike Heroic Ability at level 10.
3
Specialization : Subtlety.
Garona can activate this ability to gain stealth instantly. The stealth from this works differently from other stealth in the game : She does not leave a blur or a shimmer on the screen unless she is within melee range of any (ANY) enemy character, in which case she will be revealed, but not immediately uncloaked, as long as she is within that range. She has a 10% speed debuff when cloaked, and runs 5% faster passively when uncloaked. If she stays within vision range of enemies (ANY enemies) for 3 seconds, she is uncloaked and gets a 5 seconds cooldown on her stealth. Dealing or taking damage will uncloak her. If she is revealed from being in melee range of an enemy, she can be targetted.
She gets uncloaked from taking damage, but her cooldown is not reset upon taking it while uncloaked.

Garona's attacks made from stealth deal 65% more damage, and abilities made from stealth deal 55% more damage. Using an ability from stealth will ensure that the cooldown (5 seconds) only starts when she gets out of the enemy's vision field.

Unlocks Subtlety effects and specific talents for Garona.

Unlocks the Shadowstep Heroic Ability for Garona at level 10.

Primary Abilities

1
Ambush
Cooldown : 12 seconds
Energy Cost : 50

This ability can only be used when behind an enemy, unless specified otherwise.

Stab an enemy's back, dealing an instant 130 (+17.5/level) damage. This ability is melee range.

Combat Effect : If the target you use this ability on has dealt damage to you within the last second, you can teleport behind them and do the damage by using this, this can be used at medium range, instead of melee. This also interrupts their auto attack (they will have to target you again to start attacking you).

Assassination Effect : If the target does not have vision of you or both has their back turned to you and hasn't dealt damage to you in the past 3 seconds, you can dash to them with this. If it does not hit their back, however, it won't do damage.

Subtlety Effect : If you Ambush while in stealth, you also apply Gouge to the target and slow them by 10% for 2 seconds.
2
Gouge
Cooldown : 5 seconds
Energy Cost : 20

Deal 10 (+1/level) damage to an enemy and apply a Damage over Time effect that deals 10 (+2/level) damage to them per second, for 3 seconds. This also makes enemies take 10% more damage from your auto attacks.

Combat Effect : Make that 20%. Also, this deals damage for an extra second and has an extra 20 damage on the base damage of its initial strike.

Assassination Effect : This slows the target by 15% for 3 seconds and also deals an extra 10 damage to the base value of its DoT. It also makes the target vulnerable to your entire team for 5% extra damage.

Subtlety Effect : Using this from stealth makes it do 150% more damage on its base value instead, and the damage of its DoT is increased by 30%. Your next basic attack on the Gouge target, if done while the DoT is going on, deals 100% more damage, as well as slowing the target by 10% for 2 seconds.
3
Smoke Bomb
Cooldown : 13 seconds
Energy Cost : 30

Throw a smoke bomb that affects a small-medium area. Enemies caught in this are blinded and have their vision radius reduced by 15% for 1.5 seconds.

Combat Effect : Your first auto attack against a target affected by this grants the full 5 stacks at once instead of only 1 at a time. Stacks grant +3% damage per stack while the bomb is still affecting your target.

Assassination Effect : Your Ambush does double damage to an enemy affected by Smoke Bomb. If the enemy has been Ambushed and is still affected by smoke bomb, attacking him once will cause him to go vulnerable for 30% extra damage taken.

Subtlety Effect : Attacking an enemy affected by smoke bomb causes the enemy to be slowed by 40% for 2 seconds and makes them vulnerable to your attacks and abilities for 15% extra damage. Your attacks now also apply a DoT effect on them while they are affected by either the Smoke Bomb or the slow effect. That DoT deals 20 (+3/level) damage per second for 3 seconds, stacks twice and refreshes upon re applying. The presence of this DoT does not allow you to refresh it if the enemy is not affected by either the slow or the bomb.

Secondary Abilities

1
Dagger Throw
Charges : 3
Charge Cooldown : 10
Time Between Charge uses : .2s

Throw a knife at an enemy (4.500 range) that deals 3 (+2/level) damage upon impact. Deals 50% increased damage if the enemy is suffering from one of your DoT effects.
2
Backstab [Subtlety] [W]
Cooldown : 20 seconds
Energy Cost : 40

Engaging Move : Must be used before Ambush.

Activate to teleport yourself behind an enemy and deal 100 (+10/level) damage and make your Ambush deal 15% more damage.

Deals 30% more damage if you were behind the enemy prior to casting this.

This is not affected by your "coming out of stealth" bonus directly, and instead only deasl 20% extra damage if you cast this as your first out of stealth engaging ability.
3
Eviscerate [Assassination] [W]
Cooldown : N/A
Energy Cost : 50

Finishing Move : Can only be used after Ambush.

You can activate this ability within 2 seconds of attacking an enemy with Ambush, can only be cast on the Ambush target.

You deal 250 (+15/level) damage to the target, as well as applying a DoT effect that deals 5 (+1/level) damage a second for 5 seconds if you cast it during the first second.
4
Kidney Shot [Combat] [W]
Cooldown : 8 seconds
Energy Cost : 40

Independent on other abilities.

Deal 5 (+5/level) damage to an enemy and slows them by 15% for 3 seconds. For the duration of the slow, they are also exhausted (their abilities cost more mana) for 30% extra cost to their abilities, no matter what resource they use (if they use a resource. If no resource (like mana, fury of energy). If no resource is used, their attack speed is reduced by 10% and abilities they use while exhausted have an extra second to their cooldown.
5
Mutilate [W]
Cooldown : N/A

Energy Cost : 30

Usable on Smoke Bomb targets

You can cast this on a Smoke Bomb target to increase the movement speed reduction by 3 seconds and add a -20% attack speed debuff to them for the duration.

You also deal 20 (+15/level) damage to them immediately, as well as applying an exhaustion effect for 10% extra resource costs on their abilities.
6

Heroic Abilities

1
Poisons [Combat Heroic]
Unlocked at Level 10 if you picked the Combat Specialization.

Cooldown In between application : 20 seconds
Energy Cost : None

Applies one of four chosen poisons to your dagger.

Paralytic Poison : Lasts for 12 auto attacks, or for 15 seconds. Attacking an enemy with this slows them by 10% for 3 seconds, stacks up to 3 times. After re applying the poison twice to the third stack, root the target for 1.5 second. The slow can be applied to as many targets as you want.

Bloodboil Poison : Lasts for 10 auto attacks, or for 15 seconds. Attacking an enemy deals 2% of their health as bonus damage. This does not work on enemies below 45% health, and still consumes a charge. While this is applied, none of your abilities or auto attacks may kill an enemy. That effect persists for 2 seconds after the poison wears off.

Leeching Poison : Lasts for 15 auto attacks, or for 15 seconds. Attacking an enemy heals you for 45% of the damage dealt, including any and all damage bonuses. Ambush and Gouge's initial strikes also grant you healing.

Deadly Poison : Lasts for 10 auto attacks, or for 15 seconds. Your auto attacks now deal an extra 5 (+3/level) damage. This effect is increased by 30% on targets with higher health than 60%. If the enemy is below 50%, this then applies a DoT effect that cannot be re applied or refreshed on a single target, that deals 3 (+2/level) damage a second for 5 seconds.
2
Deadly Strike [Assassination Heroic]
Unlocked at Level 10 if you picked the Assassination Specialization.

Cooldown : 70 seconds
Energy Cost : 40

At small range, jump towards an enemy and deal 300 (+25/level) damage to them instantly. Kills reduce the cooldown of this ability by 5 seconds, and kills earned with this reduce it by 15. If you kill an enemy with this, gain vision of all enemies on the map for 3 seconds, and retain vision of those who are lower than 50% hp for 2 extra seconds. This does not show heroic summons, like Murky's Egg, or Abathur's Monstrosity.
3
Shadowstep [Subtlety Heroic]
Unlocked at Level 10 if you picked the Subtlety Specialization.

Cooldown : 15 seconds
Energy Cost : 100

Instantly jump to the back of an enemy, can be cast from a medium distance. The enemy is slowed by 20% and is vulnerable to your auto attacks for 30% extra damage while slowed ; the slow persists for 3 seconds. This ability does not uncloak you.

Instantly deal 50 (+10/level) damage to the enemy if they were over 80% hp or under 40%. Ambush is set on a 2 seconds cooldown if this deals its damage, and it applies a 5% slow.

Special Mount

1
Sprint
Cooldown : 40 seconds

If used while unstealthed, this boosts your running speed by 70% for 3 seconds, does not stack with anything. If you are damaged while sprinting, your mount's cooldown recharges 100% slower for the next 10 seconds.

If used while stealthed, boost your movement speed by 40% for 5 seconds. If you are revealed during it, make it 60% and set its duration to 2 seconds.

I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one wanting Garona to HotS as a hero and even went as far as to make his own hero concept of Garona.

However, I see quite a few problems in this concept. First of all her title "Grand Master of the Assassins' Guild" is not a suitable title because it's not canon. She used to be part of the guild, or league rather, back in World of Warcraft beta but was scrapped from the game before the game was officially released. Admittedly I don't know what title to give her because she doesn't have any really good ones but that one won't work. Perhaps 'Legendary Assassin' because that's what she is even if its not her official title or anything.

Then her traits and abilities in general; simply put this is too much. You're basically trying to shoehorn all the three rogue specs and most iconic abilities into one hero which is never a good idea. These traits just make the hero too complex and basically takes potential spots from other rogue hero candidates such as Valeera. Blizzard didn't try to force all iconic shaman speccs and abilities to Thrall and instead made him like an Enhancement/Elemental shaman while Rehgar became more like Restoration shaman. Don't see why Blizzard should not make two or even three different rogue-like heroes instead of just one with all of their abilities.

Plus it's going to be a cluster f*ck to make talents and abilities for each specc. Having only one heroic per specc is also quite limiting. I say just stick to one trait unless it's something more simple like I did with my Garona concept whose trait is using and switching between different poisons (http://www.heroesfire.com/hots/concept/garona-646), three basic abilities if possible and two heroics.

Overall, it's a simple no from me for now. This is too much stuffed into one single hero when there's potential to have more rogue-like heroes (like Valeera and Maiev could possibly have some rogue-like abilities). Pick one specialization and hone it to perfection.

This game is certainly missing a proper rogue. This character would be awesome. Can't wait to see the talent you come up with.
