Izsha

Advisor to the Queen of Blades

This hero concept is complete! I am open to suggestions as far as refining the balance of this hero.

Izsha is the Zerg equivalent of the Terran Adjutant, receiving and cataloging information from across the entire Swarm. She was specifically crafted by the Queen of Blades herself in order to store the Queen's memories and tactics, which makes her a formidable opponent to face in combat as she can draw upon information from across the battlefield. Izsha was instrumental in organizing the campaign that brought Kerrigan back to the Swarm and reunited the Zerg broods under the banner of the Queen of Blades once more. After doing so, Kerrigan utilized Izsha's vast banks of knowledge to her advantage in her fight against Arcturus Mengsk. While Izsha can't engage in combat directly (as she is physically bound to the Queen's personal Leviathan), she is able to use her psionic abilities to provide tactical support and logistics from a safe distance, enhancing her allies' capabilities and helping push them (and the Swarm) to victory.

Izsha is a mixture of supportive and lane pushing elements that is designed somewhat similarly to Abathur. However, what sets her apart is that she has no physical body of her own, since she lives in the Leviathan. Instead, she psionically bonds with her allies to provide support, and upon taking "lethal" damage, her psionic bond with the battlefield is severed and she needs time to re-establish the link (thus why she still has a Death Timer). This allows her to provide limited support while also helping to push out lanes with her broodlings, spawned by infesting the enemy with broodling eggs. This makes her a decent mixture of support and specialist, so she will work well in a double support team comp as a form of global presence.

Hero Type: Ranged Support
Difficulty: Very Hard

Pros:
  • Izsha can attach herself to any allied target to provide support across a much larger range.
  • Izsha's broodlings allow her to more easily soak multiple lanes
  • Izsha's healing ability, Mend, can heal any allied target it is attached to, even structures. This can help provide a bit of a buffer against attacks in a manner similar to Abathur's shields.
  • Izsha can increase the movement and attack speed of her allies with Frenzy.
  • Izsha can lock down a particular target with Bio-Stasis, or provide useful area denial over an objective with Deploy Leviathan.

Cons:
  • Izsha's lack of a body restricts her ability to soak lanes directly and provide a physical presence in team fights. She is highly dependent on her broodlings in order to soak properly, and doesn't have the ability to create a clone of an ally like Abathur can. Teams that take advantage of this will be able to limit her potential.
  • Izsha's Broodling Infestation ability and her broodling spawns are her only form of direct damage until she reaches Lvl 10. This means that if her team mate cannot kill targets within the time frame of its poison, her potential will be greatly reduced.
  • Izsha's Mend provides half of its healing over time, and less healing to nearby targets than it does to the primary target, which means it provides less instant healing to protect against incoming burst damage.
  • Izsha's heroic abilities can be powerful, but her inability to provide a physical presence means that a well-coordinated team can overcome these obstacles and press their numbers advantage in a team fight.

Note: All figures shown on this hero concept page are listed at their baseline figures (Lvl 0).

Health: 900 HP (+4%)
Health Regen: 3.74 HP per second (+4%)

Resource: None
Attack Damage: N/A
Attack Speed: N/A

Attack Range: N/A

Combat Trait

1
Symbiosis (D)
Izsha has no physical body, as she is bound to the Queen's Leviathan (off-screen). As such, to provide more direct support in the field of battle, Izsha psionically binds herself to a target allied minion, mercenary, Hero, or structure. This functions much in the same manner as Abathur, with a zerg icon hovering over that unit indicating her presence. She gains experience in any lane where she or one of her Broodlings is present.

When Izsha's bound target is damaged, she receives 50% of the damage they take as psionic backlash. This helps to compensate for her lack of a physical body that can be killed outright. She also cannot be healed directly by other allied Heroes.

Ability Type: Targeted
Ability Range: Global

Primary Abilities

1
Broodling Infestation (Q)
This ability provides a passive effect.

Izsha's bound target will gain a poisoning effect on their basic attacks. This effect deals 80 (+4%) damage per second for 3 seconds. If an enemy dies while under the effects of this poison, a Broodling will spawn from their corpse. These Broodlings last for 12 seconds and will attack any enemies they come into contact with.

Health: 290 HP (+4%)
Attack Damage: 30 (+4%)
Attack Speed: 1.0

Attack Range: 1.5
2
Mend (W)
Cooldown: 15 seconds

Heals Izsha and her bound target for 205 HP (+4%). Nearby allies are healed for 123 HP (+4%). Also heals for an additional 68 HP (4%) per second for the next 3 seconds.

Ability Type: Circular AoE surrounding the target
Ability Range: Effective radius is 3
3
Frenzy (E)
Cooldown: 12 seconds

Izsha's bound target gains an additional 15% attack speed and an additional 10% movement speed for 5 seconds.

Heroic Abilities

1
Deploy Leviathan (R)
Cooldown: 90 seconds

Izsha assumes control of the Leviathan and deploys it to the battlefield. This appears as a massive Leviathan-shaped shadow in the sky over a target area. The Leviathan attacks up to five targets in a large area with spine crawler tentacles, dealing 93 (+4%) damage per second. The Leviathan remains in this location for 10 seconds.

Ability Type: Circular AoE in the targeted area
Ability Range: 10
2
Bio-Stasis (R)
Cooldown: 100 seconds

Izsha places an enemy Hero within vision range of her team into Stasis for 4 seconds.

Talents

Level 1:

  • Overlord Scout - Identical to the "Scouting Drone" talent on other heroes, except that it spawns an Overlord.
  • Zerg Regeneration - Quest: Gathering Regeneration Globes through Izsha's bound target increase her health regeneration rate by 0.5 per second, up to a maximum of 15. Reward: Gain 100 health and an additional 10 HP regeneration per second.
  • Children of the Swarm (Q) - Quest: Spawn 100 Broodlings with Broodling Infestation. Reward: Broodling Infestation will now provide two Broodlings from each enemy killed by the effects of Broodling Infestation's poison.
  • Bigger Broodlings (Q) - Broodlings gain an additional 20% attack damage and last twice as long.

Level 4:

  • Infestation - Enemy minions killed near Izsha's bound target grants a stack of Bribe. Hero Takedowns grant 10 stacks of Bribe. Use 25 stacks to Bribe a mercenary, instantly defeating them. Izsha can use this effect on any mercenary camps within her vision range. Does not work on bosses. Maximum of 100 stacks. If a camp is defeated entirely with Bribe, Izsha will automatically capture the camp, and the mercenaries it creates will spawn Broodlings upon their death. Broodlings spawned in this way will not count towards Children of the Swarm's quest talent, but they will still gain the benefit of other talents.
  • Psionic Equivalence (D) - Izsha now gains 50% of any allied healing effects applied to her bound target.
  • Undying Emissary of the Swarm (W) - Quest: Heal 2000 HP on a single allied Hero with Mend. Death (Izsha's or her ally's) will reset this quest talent. Reward: Mend's effective healing range is increased by 20%.

Level 7:

  • Psionic Purification - Identical to the "Cleanse" talent on other heroes.
  • Calldown: Drone - Identical to the "Calldown: MULE" talent on other heroes, except that it spawns a Zerg Drone.
  • Frenzied Strikes (E) - Frenzy applies an additional 10% attack speed.
  • Frenzied Feet (E) - Frenzy applies an additional 10% movement speed.

Level 10:

  • Deploy Leviathan (R) - As above.
  • Bio-Stasis (R) - As above.

Level 13:

  • The Endless Brood (Q) - Izsha's Broodlings will also apply the poisoning effects of her Broodling Infestation ability on their own attacks.
  • Chain Reaction (Q) - Izsha's poison effect chains from the primary target struck to hit up to 3 additional nearby targets. These targets will also spawn Broodlings if they die while under the effect of the poison.
  • Improved Mend (W) - Mend gains an additional charge.
  • Collective Healing (W) - Mend's healing effect lasts for an additional 1 second for each allied Hero in its cast range.

Level 16:

  • Psionic Defenses (D) - Izsha takes half as much damage from psionic backlash related to Symbiosis.
  • Mental Acuity (E) - Frenzy now also applies an additional 10% ability damage to the bound target.
  • Mass Frenzy (E) - Frenzy now applies itself to all nearby allied targets.

Level 20:

  • Bio-Plasmid Discharge (R) - The Leviathan now also fires a large bio-plasmid discharge at one enemy target every 5 seconds while the Leviathan is present, prioritizing enemy Heroes with low health. This discharge deals 525 (+4%) damage to the target it is fired at.
  • Stasis Field (R) - When Bio-Stasis is activated on an enemy Hero, enemy Heroes standing near the target will also be placed in Stasis for 2 seconds.
  • Tactical Retreat - Creates a mark on the ground at a location specified by Izsha. Upon re-activation, the Leviathan reaches a tentacle down from the sky and grabs Izsha's current bound target, then drops them in the designated location. This ability can only be used once every 90 seconds.
  • Psionic Protection - Activate to give all allied Heroes across the entire battlefield a shield for 10% of their maximum health for 3 seconds. This ability can only be used once every 60 seconds.
