Nightborne Revolutionary

Combat Trait

Ancient Mana
Passive: Healing Fountains provide an additional 10% Health and Mana regeneration for all allies.

Thalyssra's Basic Abilities cost 100% additional Mana, but she can use Healing Fountains twice as often, even if they have already been destroyed.

Primary Abilities

Arcane Barrage
Mana: 50
Cooldown: 4 seconds


Fires 3 missiles forward that deal 130 damage. Each time ALL missiles hit enemies or structures, the next Arcane Barrage fires an additional missile (up to 5).

Masquerade
Mana: 75
Cooldown: 15 seconds


Grants an allied Hero Stealth and 20% Movement Speed for 2.5 seconds.

For the Revolution!
Mana: 80
Cooldown: 8 seconds


Recruit up to 2 friendly Minions to follow Thalyssra for 3 minutes, dealing 25% more damage and taking 50% less damage for the duration.

Using this ability on an allied Hero instead grants them a Shield that absorbs 190 damage for 3 seconds. If you target a Hero other than Thalyssra, you also command one of your Minions to follow that Hero for 8 seconds.

Stores 2 charges.

Heroic Abilities

Arcan'dor
Mana: 100
Cooldown: 90 seconds


Transforms an allied or destroyed Healing Fountain into an Arcan'dor Tree with 2,350 Health. Allied Heroes in a very large radius gain greatly increased Health and Mana regeneration while active, and allies that use the Arcan'dor Tree also deal 10% increased damage for 10 seconds. Lasts 30 seconds or until destroyed.

Wall of Withered
Mana: 90
Cooldown: 80 seconds


Summons a wall of Feral Withered that marches forward, passing through non-Structures and dealing 90 damage every .5 seconds to enemies in its path. Enemy Heroes are Slowed by 30% while inside the wall, and enemy Minions, Mercenaries, and Structures damaged by it are disabled for 5 seconds. Lasts 8 seconds.

Level 1 Talents

Duskwatch Sentry


  • Cooldown: 20 seconds
  • Active: Places a Duskwatch Sentry at target location, granting vision for 20 seconds. The first time a Stealthed enemy enters its radius, after 1 second it reveals all nearby enemies for 6 seconds, then expires.

Thirst for Mana


  • ? Quest: Gathering a Regeneration Globe reduces the cost of Arcane Barrage by 1, up to 20.
  • ? Reward: After gathering 20 Globes, the cooldown of Arcane Barrage is reduced by 1 second.

Lead the Revolution


  • ? Quest: Recruited Minions deal 1% additional damage for each Minion, Mercenary, and Hero you've defeated, up to 100%.

Level 4 Talents

Shal'dorei Fireworks


  • Passive: Arcane Barrage missiles deal 20% additional damage in a small radius around their target.

Shroud of Stars


  • Passive: Masquerade grants 10 Armor for its duration and for 1 second afterward.

Agent Provocateur


  • Passive: Recruited Minions from For the Revolution! reflect 50% of the damage taken from Minions, Mercenaries, and Monsters.

Thaedris' Persistence


  • Passive: Ranged Minions from For the Revolution! have 1 additional Range and deal 10% more damage.

Valtrois' Instructions


  • Passive: Arcane Barrage causes Leader Minions from For the Revolution! to fire an untalented Arcane Barrage missile towards the nearest enemy for 50% damage.

Victoire's Students


  • Passive: Melee Minions from For the Revolution! gain an additional 25% Health and cannot be Slowed or Stunned.

Level 13 Talents

First Arcanist's Ward


  • Cooldown: 60 seconds
  • Active: Channel to slow Thalyssra by 50% but reduce incoming damage by 75% for 4 seconds.

Pass Unnoticed


  • Passive: Masquerade lasts 1 second longer and the target can pass through Heroes.

Nightwatch


  • Passive: Casting For the Revolution! on an ally grants Thalyssra and any recruited Minions a Shield for 30% of the amount.

Level 16 Talents

Arcane Bombardment


  • Passive: The minimum and maximum missiles from Arcane Barrage are increased by 1.

Masquerade Party

  • Passive: Using Masquerade on an ally also casts Masquerade on Thalyssra.

Defect!


  • Passive: For the Revolution! stores an additional charge and can recruit enemy Minions.

Level 20 Talents

Telemancy Network


  • Prerequisite: Arcan'dor
  • Passive: While Arcan'dor is active, a portal is created at the Hall of Storms that instantly teleports allies to the Arcan'dor Tree.

Withered Army Training


  • Prerequisite: Wall of Withered
  • Passive: Wall of Withered's width is increased and moves 30% faster. The first time an enemy Hero is damaged by the wall, they are also Stunned for 2 seconds.

The Nightwell Calls


  • Passive: Using a Healing Fountain instantly restores Thalyssra to full Health and Mana.

Update 5/31/18: Renamed Level 3 Talents "Archery Lessons" to "Syrenne's Lessons", "Shal'dorei Students" to "Valtrois' Instruction", and "Unwavering Vanguard" to "Silgryn's Students".
Update 7/7/18: Level 1 Talent "Lead the Revolution" now only affects allied Minions.


Update 8/28/21


This will most likely be my last update, as I am finalizing all Hero Concepts and moving on to other games. Thalyssra has been reworked into a Support with strong siege damage, which feels very fitting to the character; I think she came out quite well!

Gonna agree, that arcandor ult is brilliant. Very thematic and pretty unique, 10/10

Second ult not so much since its similiar to march of the murlocs and it seems to be actively summoning a lot of units which i dont think makes sense (even though it kinda does from wow) and would probally just be super cancerous on the screen. I think you can take a more creative liberty there since the rest is already thematic to what you would expect.

Lastly I think the trait could be refined. Her trait doesnt really add much benefit honestly since she isnt a solo laner clearly or tapping would be valuable. I thinking giving mana to allies is still a good avenue to go but I'd change it a bit to be more practical both late game and early game.

The rest of the kit I love, 9/10 got my upvote.

Thank you so much! I agree that Unleash the Withered is a bit clunky, but it’s meant to be similar to Arthas’ Army of the Dead or Azmodan’s Demonic Invasion, creating a large group of summons to fill a teamfight with or soak tower shots. I’m considering making a change to it, and maybe tweak her trait as well, so we’ll see what shakes out. Thank you for the feedback!

Arcan'dor is one of the best ideas for an ultimate ability on a Specialist i've ever seen, such a great idea considering flavor too. Seriously well done.

I really like how it turned out too. I originally had it as a stand-alone object like Tychus or Zagara, but the thematic part of tying it in with her Healing Fountain focus made a lot of sense. Plus it can be used defensively to fight back against a fort being taken, or offensively as a place to fall back to during a push.
