Verick

The Sword of Dawn

This is a reworked version of Verick and Delia that I previously made

Verick is the son of Raena, the Lady of Thorns, and the Dragon Knight, making him the Prince of King's Crest. Verick and his sister Delia sealed the Dragon Knight away within a statue in the middle of Dragon Shire, taking up the fight against Queen Nightshade to protect the kingdom from her infestation. When the Raven Lord attacked King's Crest, Verick and Delia combined their powers to awaken the Dragon Knight. However, the Raven Lord was able to possess him and instead defeated the two.

Now robbed of his powers and the singularity that held his realm together, Verick, his sister Delia, and the Raven Court upstart Orphea, work together to forge an alliance that may help them rebuild their ravaged lands.

Verick is a Melee Assassin who is an excellent duelist that requires careful positioning and can dance around his opponents. As a Dual Hero, he must be played alongside his sister, Delia.

Combat Trait

Dawnfire Blade
Basic Attacks against enemy Heroes Mark them with a stack of Dawnfire for 4 seconds, stacking up to 4 times. Each stack of Dawnfire increases Verick's Basic Attack damage against them by 5%. Upon reaching maximum stacks, they take an additional 10% damage from Verick's Basic Attacks.

Verick marks enemy Heroes every time he AAs them up to 4 times. On max stacks, they take additional bonus damage against Verick's AAs. The mark is applied AFTER the Basic Attacks hit. Evasion, parries, blinds, will avoid the marks, but Blocks and Absorption will not. Marks are cleansed by Stasis and Invulnerable effects, but NOT Unstoppable or Time Stop.

Q - En Garde
Cooldown: 8 seconds/charge
Mana: 25
Charges: 3
Verick dashes a short distance in a targeted direction, refreshing and Empowering his next Basic Attack within 1.5 seconds. Empowered Basic Attacks gain 2 increased Attack Range. If all charges of En Garde are used within 2 seconds, the third En Garde will Empower the next Basic Attack to hit twice.

This is Verick's main mobility tool. The dash is roughly 75% of Tracer's Blink. Casting it will immediately refresh his AA timer and empower the next Basic Attack by increasing its range, allowing Verick to damage enemies from relative safety and dance around his opponent. If all charges are used in quick succession, his 3rd En Garde will cause the next AA to ALSO hit 2 times on top of the range increase.

W - Solar Flare
Cooldown: 14 seconds
Mana: 70
Passive: While near Delia, Verick creates a Tether with her, granting them both bonus 15% Attack Speed as long as they are Tethered. Enemies caught within the Tether are Burned, taking 45 damage every second.
Active: Activate to immediately dash towards Delia using their Tether, dealing 200 damage and reducing enemy Heroes' Physical Armor by 20. The Tether will reform after 6 seconds of casting this ability.

The passive component immediately triggers whenever Delia and Verick are within 6.5 range of each other and the width of the Tether is the same as Mei's E.
Enemies within the Tether area are hit with periodic damage. The damage ticks every 0.5 seconds, but is written for the damage per second.
The active component causes Verick to dash towards Delia, dealing damage along the way equal to the width of the Tether. Heroes hit have their Physical Armor reduced. The Tether then disappears for 6 seconds after this is cast.

E - Breaking Dawn
Cooldown: 12 seconds
Mana: 50
Activate to make Verick's Basic Attacks heal him for 30% of the damage dealt for 4 seconds. While active, Basic Attacks ignore Armor.

Activate to make it so that AAs heal Verick for a portion of the damage. The CD starts immediately once cast (effectively the CD is only 8 seconds). While active Aas ignore all types of Armor that might work against AAs, including Blocks.

Heroic Abilities

R1 - Grand Arena
Cooldown: 50 seconds
Mana: 50
Verick throws his sword forward, hitting the first enemy Hero hit and dashing towards them, immediately Basic Attacking them once. An Arena is created underneath them that lasts for 9 seconds. While inside the arena, Verick gains 20% Movement Speed. Hitting enemy Heroes affected by Grand Arena with Basic Attacks permanently increases Verick's damage from all sources by 3% up to a maximum of 15% per Arena. Killing them will grant 5% bonus damage. Lose 6% of this bonus upon death.

The Arena will disappear if either Verick or the affected Hero leaves its radius or is killed. If Verick or the affected hero leaves prematurely, the first to leave will take 350 damage.

The Area is around Yrel's Sacred Ground area and is visible to both teams. Casting this on a target applies a basic attack and 1 stack of Dawnfire consequently.
The damage increase is permanent but can be lost upon death so Verick still needs to be careful. This starts off small but becomes very scary in the late game. The ability's first component is a skill-shot. The range is around 7, the width, and the projectile speed is the same as Qhira's D.
When it hits an enemy hero, Verick dashes (gaining unstoppable) towards the hit hero and stops 50% of the radius of the Arena. Verick will take damage if he leaves the arena prematurely, but won't lose stacks. The enemy will also take damage if they choose to run away.

R2 - Fury of the Sun
Cooldown:50
Mana: 70
Verick calls upon the power of the Sun, gaining 60% increased Attack Speed for 8 seconds. During this time, En Garde recharges 80% faster and Basic Attacks against maximum stacks of Dawnfire will hit in an area to deal 75% damage.

Pretty straightforward ability. Activate to significantly increase his Attack Speed for a short period of time. Whie active En Garde will recharge faster and AAs against max stacks Dawnfire enemies will hit in an area as wide as Kerrigan's Fury of the Swarm. It gives more upfront value than the other one but makes him vulnerable to anti-AA defenses until at least 20.

Level 1

Q - Ballestra
Increase En Garde's range by 20%. En Garde's Empowered Basic Attacks deal 15% more damage.

W - Heavenly Fire
Increase Tether's bonus damage by 20%.
?Quest: Damage enemy Heroes 175 times with Tether.
?Reward: After damaging enemy Heroes 175 times, increase the Attack Speed bonus to 25%.

AA - Amateur Challenger
?Quest: Basic Attacks against enemy Heroes marked with maximum Dawnfire grants 0.5 bonus Attack Damage.

Level 4

E - Dyson Blade
Increase Breaking Dawn's duration by 2 seconds. Enemy Heroes hit by Basic Attacks while this is active grants 15 Mana.

W - Of the Same Temper
While Tethered, Verick gains 15% increased Healing and his Basic Attacks heal Delia for 20% of the damage dealt.

Trait - Armor of Dawn
Each enemy Hero affected by maximum stacks of Dawnfire grants Verick 10 Armor, stacking up to 4 times.

Level 7

AA - Pret:

Level 13

W - Unstable Star
Reduce the cooldown of Solar Flare by 2 seconds. If the dash hits at least 2 enemy Heroes, reduce its cooldown by an additional 4 seconds and refund 35 Mana.

W - Radio Storm
Enemies hit by Solar Flare's dash also have their Spell Armor reduced to 0 and their Healing reduced by 25% for 6 seconds.

E - Energized Strikes
Basic Attacks grant Verick 2% Movement Speed, stacking up to 30%. Basic Attacks against Heroes grant 5% Movement Speed.

Level 16

Q - Masterful Bladework
All of En Garde's charges are returned at once. The final Empowered Basic Attack will now hit 3 times.

W - Neutron Star
Upon reaching maximum Dawnfire, enemy Heroes are marked for 4 seconds. If Delia Stuns them, they take an additional 150 damage.

Active - Imposing Radiance
Cooldown: 30 seconds
Every 8 seconds, Verick gains 50 Spell Armor against the next Ability damage. Activate to Blind nearby enemies for 1.25 seconds.

Level 20

R1 - Eternal Challenger
Damage bonus increase per Arena no longer has a maximum. If the chosen Heroes die while Grand Arena is active, recast automatically for free at the nearest enemy Hero's location.

R2 - Supernova
Verick's 3rd Basic Attacks during Fury of the Sun also ignore Blinds. Additionally, Basic Attacks against heroes increase the duration of Fury of the Sun by 0.2 seconds, doubled against Marked Heroes.

Q - Composed Attacks
Basic Attacks reduces En Garde's cooldown by 0.25 seconds. Tripled against enemies marked with maximum Dawnfire.

Trait - Children of Dragons
Increase Verick's maximum Health by 20% of Delia's maximum Health. Every 3rd Basic Attack becomes ranged, raining down searing sunlight on the targeted enemy, dealing 40% more damage, and Slowing them by 25% for 1.5 seconds.
