The Traitor King


We're going to concetrate around my beloved champion from the Heroes of the Storm - Anub'arak
First of all, let's talk about basics:
  • is the melee warrior hero, which means he deals damage, while being able to survive even very intense teamfights.
  • is a CC machine. His role in temafights seems like: to any carry or just few members of team, knock'em up, to stun it, kill or wait them to be killed by your teammates.
Now we move to the skills description.

[Trait]: Scarab Host

Spawn a Beetle at Anub'arak's location whenever he casts a spell. Beetles last for 10 seconds, attackin nearby enemies for 8 (+2 per level) damage

[Q]: Impale

Deals 60 (+8 per level) damage. Stuns for 1 second.

[W]: Harden Carapace

Gain a Shield that absorbs 90 (+22 per level) damage over 3 seconds.

[E]: Burrow Charge

Burrows to location, dealing 55 (+9 per level) damage and briefly stunning enemies in a small area upon surfacing. Can reactivate the Ability to surface early.

[R]: Locust Swarm

Deal 20 (+8 per level) damage per second in an area around Anub'arak. Each enemy damaged heals Anub'arak for 10 (+1.5 per level) health.

[R]: Web Blast

Wraps target enemy Hero in a cocoon for 8 seconds. Enemies wrapped in the cocoon are unable to act and untargetable. Allies of the Hero can attack the cocoon to break it and free them early.

Next section belongs to the talents.

Talents: Top

Now i'm gonna show you what talents i'm using. These are going to be Blue.

Green colour is for talents being also good, but not taken by me in most of situations. Some talents are good only in few situations Yellow colour is just for them. Red colour means: Don't take it, it's just waste of pick.

Extended Spikes Increases the range of Impale by 25%.
This makes your impalability even more impalable :D. Gives you extra range to stun targets like
Nazeebo or Sgt. Hammer etc.. who are hidden in the backs, dealing tons of damage.
Persistent Carapace Increases Harden Carapace's Shield duration by 3 seconds.
Although my build is concetrated about Anub'arak's shield, this talent is not even optional, your shield is going to be destroyed in less than 3 seconds in teamfights.
Assault Scarab Increaes the attack damage of spawned Beetles by 25%.
There is funny optional build for Anub'arak which is about his beetles, that's "must be" for it. I'm going to show you this build, but not yet with description, cause i didn't tried it yet enough. It is said to be good build :).
Regeneration Master Increases Health Regeneration by 4 per second. Every 3 Regeneration Globes gathered increases this bonus by 4.
This is might be, because health regeneration is one of the stats that are good for tanks or just tanky warriors like in some matches Anub'arak is needed to be. I don't like it though.
Underking Increases the range of Burrow Charge by 20% and lowers the cooldown by 2 seconds.
Nothing much to say, greater CC which can be used more often - OP ;)
Superiority Reduces damage taken from Minions, Structures and Mercenaries by 50%.
Seems to be okay but Underking is much more valuable if most of the cases.
Locust Needles Basic Attacks deal 50% of your Basic Attack Damage in an area around the target.
I didn't find this talent to be worth taking, but you can experiment on normals, {maybe for split push).
Legion of Beetles Anub'arak automatically spawns Beetles every 8 seconds. Can be toggled on and off.
Another pick for Beetle's build.
Shed Exoskeleton Using Harden Carapace also increases Anub'arak's Movement Speed by 25% for 3 seconds.
Good talent to pick, but more often i choose Urtricating Spines
Urtricating Spines Casting Harden Carapace will also deal 50 (+9 per level) damage to nearby enemies.
Gives your shield extra damage, to slap carries harder.
Bed of Barbs Create a bed of spikes along Impale's path that slows enemy Move Speed by 30% and deals 18 (+2 per level) damage per second. Spikes persist for 3.5 seconds.
Another good pickup in this tier. Nice to have against champions which has high mobility like
Valla, Illidan or Falstad.
Leeching Scarabs Beetles heal Anub'arak for 50% of their damage with each attack if he is nearby.
Beetle's build.
Mercenary Lord Siege and Bruiser Mercenaries near your hero deal 50% more damage.
NO! Just no...
Locust Swarm Deal 20 (+8 per level) damage per second in an area around Anub'arak. Each enemy damaged heals Anub'arak for 10 (+1.5 per level) health.
This is the Hero ability which makes Anub'arak barely unkillable.
Web Blast Wraps target enemy Hero in a cocoon for 5 seconds. Enemies wrapped in the cocoon are unable to act and untargetable. Allies of the Hero can attack the cocoon to break it and free them early.
Good to pickup when opposite team has hero like Illidan and created composition which gives him everything like Abathur + Tassadar + Uther etc..
Burning Rage Deal 10 (+2 per level) damage per second to nearby enemies.
If you don't need the Chitinous Plating get it, extra damage, good in pushing.
Chitinous Plating Increases Harden Carapace's Shield amount by 40%.
Solid pickup to be even more harder to kill.
Symbiotic Armor Anub'arak's Beetles are also granted a Shield equal to 90 (+22 per level).
Beetle's build.
Spell Shield Upon taking Ability Damage, reduce that damage and further Ability Damage by 50% for 2 seconds. Can only trigger once every 30 seconds.
I would consider it, only when facing team based on high Ability Damage like:
Jaina, Kael'thas or Nazeebo.
Epicenter Increases the impact area and damage of Burrow Charge by 85%.
If match isn't that easy and you don't want to take Blood for Blood, pick it up. Greater and stronger knock up - it talks about itself.
Beetle, Juiced If a Beetle kills an enemy its duration is refreshed, becomes fully healed, and gains 100% bonus Health and damage. This effect can only occur once per Beetle.
Beetle's build.
Blood for Blood Activate to steal 15% of target enemy's Max Health and slow its Movement Speed by 30% for 3 seconds.
I like this spell much, steals hp and slows enemy carry making it more vulvnerable to you and your team.
Imposing Presence Enemies that attack you have their Attack Speed slowed by 50%.
I would consider it, only when facing team based on Attack Speed like:
Falstad, Valla or Illidan.
Hive Master Anub'arak gains a permanent Vampire Locust that attacks a nearby enemy every 3 seconds. The Vampire Locust deals 16 (+16 per level) damage and returns to heal Anub'arak for 20 (+3 per level) health.
Selfheal and damage to survive more, clear mercenaries alone.
Cryptweave Gain a new ability to reinforce a Web Blast victim, increasing time the target is trapped.
Make enemy hero useless longer ^^.
Hardened Shield Activate to reduce damage taken by 75% for 4 seconds.
My choice in most of the cases. With this talent you are not barely this time, you are surely unkillable (for 4 seconds of course ;D)
Rewind Activate to reset the cooldowns of your Basic Abilities.
I don't like this spell, but it's good alternative, gives you even more CC, or just way to engage and then disengage <- it isnt in my nature :D .

Pros & Cons Top

PROS:

  • CC Machine
  • Great Mobility.
  • Unkillable throughout most teamfights in late game.
  • Built tanky; still can kill carry alone.
  • Well scaling with time
  • Hard M.F. ^.^

CONS:

  • Laning phase against ranged heroes hurts much
  • If silenced before launching ult, he may be shut down quickly

Synergies Top

Here I will post heroes which i like to have in team with me, but it's very personal :)
Sharing frontline with Arthas is like "Kill first, ask questions later". Both freaking tanky as well as dealing high, even burst damage.
The same thing as with Arthas, Muradin is one of the hardest tanks in the game, you can go more into damage with Anub'arak.
As Anub'arak you are able to keep enemies in one place for few seconds this allows Nazeebo to rape them with Ravenous Spirit
He works with every hero, so also with Anub'arak XD
