TL;DR Top

1. Psi-Op Rangefinder - Extra range = spacing.

2. Remote Delivery - the extra range serves a purpose. Helps you scout, stop an enemy from mounting, stop an enemy from capturing an objective, and soak tower attacks. The lower cool down is a must for level 16.

3. One in the chamber - shoot after every spell cast.

4. Triple tap - IMO helps you confirm a kill or engage from a distance.

5. Lethal Decoy - 25% damage is needed for level 16.

6. Double Fake - This is what you need. Once you hit level 16, you can star to pick off heroes by yourself.

7. Bolt of the Storm - Lets you be aggressive without the consequence of dying.

Long Version Top

If you know how to do the following:

A. Positioning
B. Map awareness
C. Knowing when to engage

This guide will make sense to you.

1. Psi-Op Rangefinder - The popular choice is Ambush Snipe. Personally, I don't open up with snipe and I will rarely see the 20% benefit. When I engage an enemy with NPCs around, I wait for them to be open to snipe them. If you know your ABC points above, take advantage of this range. If you escape a narrow death but have teammates chasing your attacker, mount up and help kill. Your range allows you to engage without dying (#2 Map awareness - know where your enemies are).

2. Remote Delivery - What I said in TL;DR. Tips: Use your decoy to block stuns or attacks (Mauradin, Kael, Jaina's ice attack). If your team engages in a fight, extra range will let you deploy your decoy to your desire. Throw it bushes to juke the enemy BEFORE engaging yourself. Or, throw it in the chaos and let them think it's you (Johanna's pull, or other AOE attacks).

3. One in the chamber: this is my bread and butter. Following the ABCs, scope out who is alone on the enemy team. If you know an enemy is coming to regroup with their team, hide in a bush along their path. As soon as they cross you, do the following:

a. Open with lethal decoy in attack range of your enemy. Shoot your target once.
b. Immediately after your auto attack, Snipe or Pinning Shot depending on what you need. (If close, . snipe. If far, pinning shot to slow). Shoot once.
c. Immediately after your auto attack, use your Snipe or Pinning Shot, whichever you haven't used yet.
d. At this point, heroes are generally at 25% health - if tanks, 50%.
e. Finish with triple tap, or after immediately stop, find cover, mount up, and move on. And when I say . move on, I mean find cover to triple tap without dying, let your CD's come up to re-engage, or run . away (cause the enemy is coming).

Disclaimer: if you know what orb walking is, you should be doing this always with in between A-C.

4. Triple tap - IMO precision air strike is great, but doesn't confirm a solo kill. In group fights you're busy focusing on a single hero from behind. See #3 point e.

5. Lethal Decoy - is what it is

6. Double Fake - If you are getting stomped on, soak to 16. Once you get this you can be more useful. Be mindful how you position these guys.

7. Bolt the Storm - I use this to engage carelessly. Your group engages 4v5, but if you know your ABCs you're already behind the enemy. If not, take the seconds to run around the enemy to be unnoticed and to target the fragile heroes from behind. Once you engage with #3 A-C, it's up to you whether you can finish the kills or book it. Teleport lets you abuse how aggressive you are.

Game phases Top

Early game (level 1-10):

1. Roam, I rarely bother with lanes with a healer. You're not going to get kills. I'll move to solo lanes and harass.

2. Aim for harassing, not kills. IMO early game kills don't matter since enemies spawn fast. Zone out the enemy from soaking. I'll hit someone with my snipe and pinnning shot, retreat and hide in a bush until they come out again. Protip: holo decoy in front of enemy towers so that the towers attack your decoy. You are now free to pinning shot, snipe, and auto attack at least twice on the enemy by the towers.

3. Soak lanes when necessary - if your solo in a lane dies, stay there till they come back. If you know you can't do ****, soak a lane.

Mid Game (10-16)

1. Join team fights when you can, with triple tap you can get ganks off.

2. 75% confident running by yourself - easy to pick off fragile heroes with your triple tap.

Late game (16+)

1. 100% confident - pick off enemy heroes solo. If you know you're safe from harm, pop up your combo on towers. You can solo a tower with one combo move.
