Ultimates can differ depending on which hereos you have on your team. If you're looking to be the main driving force for getting pick-offs, I would recommend getting Shadow Assault. Shadow Assault gives you some more room to play around with, giving a very useful gap closer. However, if you think you have enough carries on your team and you're confident in their ability to pull their weight, I would definitely not think twice about getting Void Prison, often times it can set them up to make a big play and its a pretty flashy ultimate that can get you a lot of credit.
Early: You should be going around and roaming looking for the best opportunities to gank other players especially squishy supports and mages. Depending if the lane you are ganking for has a stun it should be a reasonably easy kill because of the amount of early game burst that Zeratul has in his kit.
Mid Game: You should now atleast have your ult, you can still go for ganks and objective and if a team fight comes out of one of your ganks you should be ready to position yourself to make the best use of your ult. ITS IMPORATNT TO THINK OF YOUR TEAMATES POSITION AS WELL AS YOURS AND YOUR ENEMIES. If you were to hit one of your teamates more often than not they will not be to happy about it.
Late Game: Depending on which ultimate you went you are going to be a ganking 1v1 machine or a very valuable ***it to have in a team fight with your aoe crowd control ultimate. A GOOD ONE CAN CHANGE A FIGHT COMPLETELY. It can really set up your teamates abilities so its imperative to pick your talents accordingly to who you have on your team.
Thanks for giving my guide a read,
If I get positive reviews or comments I would be more than happy to make a few more
