Threat Hero Notes
1
Abathur Abathur is delicious. Eating one of these grants 20 extra lives. Look for his minions to come out and just follow them back to him. Don't worry if he's under his fort, just pop Searing Strikes, have your meal, and blink out. Best served cold.
1
Murky lol
2
Anub'arak Not a threat at all. He can escape somewhat decent, but he's not going to do much to you beyond that. Only use your melt combo if you have him in a position that he isn't likely to escape from. Otherwise, save it.
2
Falstad Keep your blink handy for when he tries to escape, or use it to get away if he pops his W. Throw your W on him, Q, then Searing Strikes. If he pops his W, blink out and execute another trade later.
2
Sylvanas She's perhaps the least threatening specialist you'll ever run into. Just be mindful that while you're burning her, she can often escape pretty easily, so either wait til her escape is on CD, or just burn her quickly.
2
Tychus He's usually a really good gank target. Just don't let him kite you around his laser drill if he gets it. Best time to gank him is when he's using his Q on something else and you do it from behind.
3
E.T.C. Just watch for mosh pit and his q. Easy to melt if solo.
3
Gazlowe When he has his turrets down, you don't want to stick around long or else you'll easily die. Just open on him, hit hard, blink out, rinse repeat. Force him to heal constantly and he becomes either useless or dead during lane phase. Later in the game when everybody is mobile, his turrets typically aren't much of an issue, just don't get caught in his E (it's easy to avoid.)
3
Malfurion Watch his roots. Other than that, easy kill.
3
Muradin After he burns his Q, use your melt combo and he's dead. If he uses his E, match with your E. If he pops Avatar early in the fight, just keep hitting til your SS and Zerk run out, then leave and finish later because his health pool would be hard to burn through.
3
Nova So long as she doesn't catch you out in the open, you will tear her apart using just Searing Strikes, even if she starts with more health than you. Make sure to outmaneuver her (i.e. blink ahead of her if she runs.)
3
Tyrande Don't get caught in her stun. If she uses it on you while you're burning her, just blink to the other side of her.
3
Valla It really depends on how she's built. If she takes strafe, she's a good gank target. However if she takes Rain of Vengeance, she can really ruin your day if you get caught in it. Generally you can see when she's about to drop it, so just blink to the other side of her, and her ult is wasted. Never blink to open unless her E is on cooldown.
3
Zeratul Few Zeratul use the same type of build and can't tolerate a prolonged battle against you. If you go toe to toe with another Zeratul, have Searing Strikes ready, as usually he goes with a different talent that tier and doesn't get Berserk either. If he pops Shadow Assault (which IMO is a really terrible ult as Berserk alone does more damage,) respond with Void Prison, stealth until it runs out, and then re-open and kill.
4
Arthas His W is dangerous, but other than that he's not a big threat. Just make sure you have your blink handy because you don't want to try to run away while he has his E on you. Your melt combo can easily take him at higher levels.
4
Jaina Watch her AOE, it can really ruin your day if you aren't careful. Also don't let her Q you to death, make sure you have an easy way to line of sight away from her if you have to. Otherwise, she's somewhat easy to gank.
4
Kael'thas Another hero I haven't played. Just dodge his stun thingie and use searing strikes if you have to. He's pretty squishy.
4
Stitches After all of his nerfs he's easily the least tanky tank. Save your blink in case you get hooked, but your melt combo destroys him.
4
Tyrael There's very little he can do in the way of killing you, but he's a tank and he has a good escape. Your melt combo works well on him if his escape is already burned though.
5
Azmodan Keep your blink handy for when he pops his laser. Don't try to solo lane against him, just take good gank opportunities. If you're full health, and he's full health, and you have your burn combo, just melt his face off.
5
Diablo Keep your blink handy around him because he can easily screw up your positioning if you don't. Highly susceptible to your melt combo if alone.
5
Illidan Unlike most assassins, you'll probably need to have your Berserk AND Searing Strikes ready, because you tend to have a limited kill window. Wait til his E is off cooldown, then rip him apart.
5
Kerrigan Usually people who play her think she can always 1v1 a Zeratul. Most of the time they're right, but with this build if you use your melt combo, you'll destroy her.
5
Nazeebo CAREFUL with his W. Usually easy to dodge, but you can blink out of it in case you get caught. Later game, a single cleave will destroy it. Use a full melt combo on him because he usually isn't as squishy as most other damage dealers.
5
Zagara Don't try to lane against her. Ever. She'll roflstomp you if you do. However if she's laning against your teammates and you're roaming (like you should be) then she's an easy gank target. Bonus points if you use your Q to erase her creep. If she drops hydralisks on you, always blink away and avoid them. Easy gank target late game.
6
Raynor Probably one of the least squishy assassins because of his passive. Usually you only want to ambush him when he's attacking your teammates. If he pops Raynor's Raiders, just blink out and re-stealth. One of the few assassins you'll want to save your full melt combo for.
6
Sgt. Hammer She's easy to melt, but she also escapes easy. Don't waste your melt combo unless your W has already landed. NEVER initiate the fight by blinking into her, otherwise she'll use her W and just knock you back.
6
Sonya Definitely one of the more formidable tanks. After she burns her Q though, she's easy to combo to death.
6
Uther Very good burst heals while also being somewhat tanky and has a stun. Not the best gank target, but still doable. Careful in group fights though because if he lands a stun on you, you're quite vulnerable.
7
Li Li Not as annoying as [[Brightwing]], but her E basically ruins your melt combo. Just make sure she's burned it first before popping your coolies. She's also not a good gank target during lane phase because she escapes pretty easy.
7
The Lost Vikings These guys are surprisingly not very gankable when they're together. Sure, you can kill one now and then, but if the three are together and the person playing them is mindful of you, they aren't an easy kill target, and there are always better things to melt. If you really do want to gank one, just use Searing Strikes, but save your Berserk.
7
Thrall Early game, he can ruin your day when you try to ambush. Later in the game, your melt combo destroys him, but he is capable of cockblocking your melt combo with his Sundering, so be careful.
8
Chen Have your blink handy. He's susceptible to burn, but only if he has already burned ALL of his cooldowns, so he's not exactly an opportune target in most cases.
8
Rehgar He himself isn't exactly a threat, but his E can really ruin your gank opportunities. Just be mindful of it when you are going for the kill. Also you probably don't want to bother chasing him most of the time since he easily runs away.
9
Brightwing Annoying. Her W is a strong CC, you DON'T want to get caught in it with lots of enemies around. If she's solo though, she's an easy kill.
9
Tassadar He himself is not that big of a threat, but he can make it difficult to get an ambush off with his D. Also if he gets prescience, he's almost never a good gank target.
10
Johanna I've never played her so I don't know her abilities that well, but she's one of the few tanks that aren't very susceptible to melting. Just stay out of her aoe and take pot shots, but I wouldn't try melting her unless she's not only alone, but really badly positioned.

Basic tactics -- It's all about roaming and ganking. Top

IMPORTANT: READ THIS FIRST!

This build is a bit unconventional with high risk, high reward gameplay. It is not for people new to Zeratul or people who aren't used to using added abilities that you have to time right. You'll get used to when to pop these over time, but you'll often get it wrong at first and get frustrated. You'll probably enjoy this build if you like jungling in League of Legends.

Zeratul is very squishy, and otherwise easily gibbable, so you have to be careful with builds like this one. Never blink INTO a fight unless somebody is almost dead and you need to quickly finish them off. Always walk in stealth, and blink out of the trade. If you run into a bad situation, Void Prison is a life saver. It also saves your teammate's lives as well.

For the hero difficulty ratings, I'm assuming that it's already late game and you have both Searing Strikes and Berserk, and you are ONLY trying to kill that one hero, so just keep that in mind. These difficulty ratings are different early game, and also vary depending on who your target is with. In general, if your target is with another hero that doesn't have CC, these remain accurate. But don't try to, for example, gib a Diablo if there's a Nova with her W nearby. If the Diablo is solo however, just pop your cooldowns and melt his face off.

Early game Top

This is by far my favorite early game gank build. Right from the start, the enemy team already has to worry about you trapping and killing them. In the late game, you can snowball pretty well, which is why I really love this build.

For Tier 1, basically all of the talents are viable, but my favorite to be able to roam the longest without having to B or use the fountain is Block. However if you mostly roam and ambush, you probably don't want to go with either regen master or seasoned marksman, as you aren't going to be getting many minion kills or regen orbs.

For Tier 2, I generally like Focused Attack because it just makes you hit that much harder. Vampiric Assault *can* be good, but in my experience you run out of mana long before health anyways with this build and playstyle, and running out of mana is a very bad thing because you've can't use your blink, so you have to B anyways. While Gathering Power is a good talent in general, you don't want to use it in this particular build because you aren't relying on abilities for damage. The remaining two talents range from highly situational to useless, depending on the game, but I'd usually just avoid them completely.

For Tier 3, always go Searing Attacks, or else this build is basically pointless.

For Tier 4, I've seen some Zeratul players go with Shadow Assault, but IMO it's a terrible talent. Void Prison is just so much better for team fights, which is what this game is all about. It counters everything, and nothing counters it. You can split the enemy team apart while you destroy the rest. You can save yourself and/or your teammates with it, save your towers/core with it (useful in Haunted Mines) and stop enemies from escaping so that your team can surround them. In other words, you can really pull of some CLUTCH moves with it. Easily the best ult in the game.

Meanwhile Shadow Assault leaves you fully vulnerable to getting gibbed, and only lasts a few seconds. Not only that, but Berserk offers an even better attack bonus, and still makes you run faster anyways. At level 20, you also get a passive slow, making the charge in Shadow Assault nearly worthless anyways. Go with Void Prison. Learn it, live it, love it, and troll the **** out of the enemy team with it.

For Tier 5, Giant Killer and Assassin's Blade are both good, but I slightly prefer Giant Killer because sometimes combat drags on for a while and you lose that bonus. Not only that, but if you like melting tanks, Giant Killer wins. I like Wormhole in general, but it doesn't complement this build at all as this build is more about go in and melt rather than hit and run. The remaining talents are ****, don't bother with them.

Late game tactic Top

The fun begins at Tier 6. Get Berserk, and don't look back. When you run into a tanky player, hell even a full blown tank, most of the time they think you can't kill them before they kill you. And most of the time, they're right. But this isn't a build most people use most of the time. This build burns tanks.

Pop both Searing Strikes AND Berserk at the same time. Watch tanks melt like butter with just melee strikes.

Just be careful that they don't have a stun handy to stop you. I.e. wait til E.T.C. or Muradin have already burned their Q before you burn them.

For Tier 7, Nexus Blades really completes this build. You melt enemies 20% faster, and they have very limited escape options. Get this talent. Your ult is already the best in the game, and Protective Prison doesn't help it much. Rewind is a good talent, but it complements ability damage and hit and run tactic, which isn't what this build is about.
