Zarya

Slight Rework Concept

Although Zarya is fine at the moment, as a Zarya main I felt like some changes were required. Her abilities remain the same. This is more of a slight talent rework and some small adjustments. I'll highlight the new changes and write [New] next to them so you can distinguish the changes easily (You can also check the new changes below the level 20 talents).

Health: 2300 [New]
Health regen: 5.0 [New]
Energy: 100 [Unchanged]
Energy decay: 2.0 [New]
Attack Damage: 25 [New]
Attack Speed: 4.00 [Unchanged]
Attack Range: 4.5 [Unchanged]

Combat Trait

Energy
Each time Zarya's Personal Barrier or Shield Ally absorbs 10 damage, her Energy is increased by 1. Each point of Energy increases Zarya's damage by 3% [New]. After 0.5 seconds, Energy decays by 2 [New] per second.

Additional Functionality: Zarya's basic attacks deal 50% additional damage to enemies in melee range.

*Changes: Damage modifier increased from 2% to 3%.
Energy decay per second reduced from 3 to 2.
*Feel the Heat talent is now baseline.

Primary Abilities

Particle Grenade
Launch a particle grenade that deals 80 [New] damage to enemies within the area. Deals 45% [New] damage to Structures.
Stores up to 4 charges.

Additional Functionality: All Particle Grenade charges are now replenished at once.

*Damage increased from 75 to 80
*Damage reduction against structures reduced from 50% to 45%.

Gain a shield that absorbs 560 damage for 3 seconds.

Quest: Demolitions Expert (Q):
For every 5 enemy Heroes hit by Particle Grenade, its recharge rate lowers by 0.438 seconds, up to 3.5 seconds.
Reward: Once Particle Grenade has hit 40 enemy Heroes, its radius is increased by 20% [New].
Together We are Strong (E):
Every 5 damage done by allies while under Shield Ally contributes 1 Energy, up to 40 Energy per shield. [Unchanged].
Feel the Heat (Passive):
Removed. Is now baseline [New].
Plasma Shock (Trait) [New]:
While at or above 25 Energy, your basic attacks slow enemies by 10% for 1.5 seconds. The slow amount increases with each 10 Energy you get, up to 80%.
Maximum Charge (Trait):
Regen Globes now instantly grant 15 [New] Energy.
Quest: Spend 150 seconds at or above 50 Energy.
Reward: Gain an additional 50 [New] maximum Energy.

Talents level 4:

I Am the Strongest (W):
Personal Barrier absorbs an additional 140 damage. [Unchanged]
Quest: Give Me Twenty (E):
Regeneration Globes increase Shield Ally absorb amount by 15, up to 300 permanently.
Reward: After collecting 20 Regen Globes, permanently reduce the cooldown of Shield Ally by 2 seconds. [Unchanged].
Speed Barrier (E):
Shield Ally increases the allied Hero's Movement Speed by 50% for the duration. [Unchanged].
Defensive Shielding (Passive):
Upon expiration or breaking, Personal Barrier and Shield Ally grant 75 Physical Armor for 3 seconds [New].

Talents level 7:

Pinpoint Accuracy (Q):
Particle Grenade deals 30 more damage and Slows Movement Speed by 25% for 2 seconds to enemies hit by the center of the blast. [Unchanged]
Explosive Barrier (W):
Upon expiration or breaking, Personal Barrier explodes, dealing 110 damage to nearby enemies. [Unchanged]
To the Limit (Passive):
While above 40 Energy, your Attack Range is increased by 35% [New].
Hit Me (Trait) [Reworked]:
Upon reaching maximum Energy, Zarya's damage is increased by an additional 20%.

Talents level 13:

Unstoppable Competitor (W):
Personal Barrier grants Unstoppable for 3 [New] seconds.
Spell Barrier (W):
Upon expiration or breaking, Personal Barrier grants 75 Spell Armor for 3 seconds. [Unchanged]
Endurance Training (Trait):
While at or above 75 Energy, gain 25 [New] Armor.
Pain is Temporary (Active):
Activate to consume all Energy and gain a shield that absorbs 0.5% of Zarya's maximum Health per Energy consumed and lasts for 3 seconds. Zarya may only have one personal Shield active on herself at a time. Has 30 seconds cooldown. [Unchanged]

Talents level 16:

Cleansing Shield (E):
Shield Ally removes all disabling effects from the target allied hero, grants Unstoppable for 2 seconds upon expiration or breaking [New] and reduces its cooldown by 3 seconds.
Gain Train (E):
Shield Ally now grants an untalented shield to a nearby ally upon impact. [Unchanged]
Born in Battle (Trait):
While at or above 75 Energy, your cooldowns recharge 75% [New] faster.
Igniting Beam (Passive) [New]:
While at or above 75 Energy, Zarya's basic attacks deal an additional damage based on 6% of the target's maximum health over 5 seconds.

Talents level 20:

Gravity Kills (Heroic R):
Increases Gravition Surge's duration by 1 second, increases its radius by 25% [New] and Silences heroes caught in its area.
Clear Out (Heroic R):
Reduce Expulsion Zone's cooldown by 15 [New] seconds, increase its radius by 30% [New] and increase its duration by 1.5 seconds.
Grenadier (Q):
Removed. Is now baseline [New].
Hyperspheres (Q) [New]:
Particle Grenade stuns enemies hit for 0.5 seconds and slightly pulls them towards its center.
Unyielding Defender (Active):
Activate to reset the cooldowns of Personal Barrier and Shield Ally. Has 60 seconds cooldown. [Unchanged]

Overall changes

Stats:

-Health increased to 2300.
-Health Regen increased to 5.
-Energy Decay reduced to 2.
-Attack Damage increased to 25.
-Feel the Heat and Grenadier talents are now baseline. Replaced by 2 new talents in addition.

Abilities:

-Damage per Energy increased to 3%.
-Particle Grenade damage increased to 80 and its damage reduction against structures reduced to 45%.
-Shield Ally now grants the same amount of shields as Personal Barrier and its cooldown is reduced by 4 seconds.
-Expulsion Zone's damage increased to 150, its slow amount increased to 60%, its slow duration increased to 1.5 seconds and its cooldown is reduced to 40 seconds.

Talents:

-Demolitions Expert's Particle Grenade radius increasing has been increased to 20%.
-Feel the Heat removed since it's now baseline.
-New talent, Plasma Shock.
-Maximum Charge's Energy gain from Regen Globes reduced to 15 and the maximum bonus Energy increased to 50.
-Defensive Shielding's duration has been reduced to 3 seconds. But no longer has a basic attack limit.
-To the Limit has been reworked.
-Hit Me has been reworked.
-Unstoppable Competitor's Personal Barrier Unstoppable's duration has been increased to 3 seconds.
-Endurance Training's Armor has been increased to 25.
-Cleansing Shield now also grants Unstoppable upon Shield Ally's expiration or breaking.
-Born in Battle's cooldown reduction has been increased to 75%.
-New talent, Igniting Beam.
-Gravity Kills now also increases Gravition Surge's radius.
-Clear Out's Expulsion Zone's cooldown reduction reduced to 15 seconds and increases Expulsion Zone's radius.
-Grenadier removed since it's now baseline.
-New talent, Hyperspheres.

Why rework Zarya?


Author's Answer: As mentioned above, Zarya is fine at the moment. However, I felt like some changes were required. Also I wanted to make Zarya to fit more in her support role while also being strong. Another reason is to give underpicked talents a chance without making overpicked talnets bad. Unfortunately, Zarya is not really a popular support. So I thought this rework may help her with that.
