Introduction Top

This build was used by Adrd on team TSaM in ETS EU finals against Na'vi

Nazeebo is a specialist - bordering on Assasin-level damage - with large AOE (Area of Effect) spells. What he lacks in escape and crowd control (stuns/slows), he makes up for in damage over time and great sustainability.

Battletoads is a video game media franchise by Rare that began with the original beat 'em up game Battletoads in 1991. Starring three anthropomorphic toads named after skin conditions, Rash, Zitz, and Pimple, the original Battletoads for the NES was renowned for its difficulty.

Why not infuse Nazeebo with the strength of Battletoads?

Talents Top

Tier 1 - Level 1

Death Ritual is chosen for huge additions to health and mana totals late game. Since Nazeebo can quickly clear lanes, as the game progresses, Nazeebo will grow steadily more durable and gain a larger mana pool. Note: This talent has no limit for its stacks so theoretically you could be as tanky as Stiches.
Other Traits

Tier 2 - Level 4

Spider Cluster makes Corpse Spiders create 3 more spiders. This talent is picked up to add to the contesting power: forcing an enemy hero to leave or get hit by 6 spiders if they stay.
Other Traits

Tier 3 - Level 7

Toad Affinity gives you mana return but we pick this talent because it lowers cooldowns. Since this talent is dependent on enemies hit, we want to use Plague of Toads on large waves or crowds of enemies. Generally you will want to hit around 5 enemies and get around 25 mana and lower the cooldown by 50%; anymore and this talent really pays off.

Without Toads of Hugeness you won't be getting that much of a return. After you get it, this talent will be very noticeable. Synergy with Hardened Focus as well; virtually reducing the cooldown 60% or more.
Other Traits

HEROIC Tier - Level 10

Gargantuan took me a while to appreciate but my appreciation is mostly due to Blizzard's buff to this ability. This ability provides Nazeebo with a meatshield (to merc effectively, punish enemy closing distances, push more effectively) and it persists for longer than Ravenous Spirit.

First, you deal AOE damage to a small area, then the Gargantuan hits hard, and can stomp opponents for more burst damage. If used effectively, it can deal overall more damage than Ravenous Spirit and has more of an effect on the game since it persist's longer and has a shorter cooldown. Most significantly, this heroic allows you to use your Toads and keep your distance from enemies.
Other Traits

Tier 5 - Level 13

Toads of Hugeness can obliterate unsuspecting enemy heroes, wipe creep waves off the planet, and reduce structures to dust. This is the talent you pick this build for. It adds HUGE damage to your toads each time they leap. Blizzard's buff to 20% is generous, as the toads can leap 5 times and add 100% extra damage to Plague of Toads.

This talent changes how you have to use Plague of Toads, rewarding you for keeping your distance. But the talent also rewards you for doing this, as it will increase the area of effect by 20% each time they hop as well. Meaning, the further you are, the more enemies you will hit. Great synergy with Toad Affinity, allowing you to significantly reduce cooldowns.
Other Traits

Tier 6 - Level 16

Leaping Spiders is a great choice for adding much more damage to Nazeebo and increases Nazeebo's contesting ability even more. Leaping spider effectively increases the range of Spider Cluster and interrupts the opponent from taking Dragon Knight, Mounting or hearth-stoning back to base.
Other Traits

FINAL Tier - Level 20

Bolt of the Storm is always a good choice because it provides versatility on the map and allows Nazeebo to escape, re-position in team fights or ambush/chase. This ability fixes a main flaw in Nazeebo, that he doesn't have any escapes. With Nazeebo, Bolt of the Storm is going to be used defensively more than offensively, since Zombie Wall has a delay, Corpse Spiders has a small AOE and Plague of Toads requires precise positioning.

Laning & tips Top

Early game tips for Lane harrass and wave clear.
  • Take a lane closest to the starting objective.
  • Attempt to simultaneously clear waves and harass enemy heroes.
  • Use Zombie Wall to clear wave and in attempt to trap enemy hero (much easier with melee Heroes).
  • Follow up with Plague of Toads and Corpse Spidersto harass enemy hero .
  • Use Corpse Spiders to zone the opponent out.
  • Use Plague of Toads sparingly early game to conserve mana but if your opponent comes close or you trap them with Zombie Wall, use the toads to punish them.
  • Use Plague of Toads around corners to line up the toads and potentially hit them with every single toad.
  • Use Corpse Spiders to check bushes or any fog of war that is dangerous.

After getting Toad Affinity
  • You can spam Plague of Toads more frequently on creep waves since it regains mana and lowers the cooldown.

After getting Toads of Hugeness
  • Maintain a certain distance from enemies to ensure maximum damage. Far enough to get a few leaps (3-5) in but close enough so that the enemy doesn't just dodge them.
  • Fog of war can be used to your advantage. Disappear around a corner or ambush an enemy to hit them with the full force of the Toads.

General tips:
  • Always be soaking EXP unless ganking or taking objective.
  • Rotate to other lanes whenever necessary for early ganks or more experience.
  • Take mercenaries when you have room in your lane.
  • Be careful of enemy heroes trying to gank you. Don't over-extend.
  • Pay attention to Map Objectives, they take precedence over your lane.

Map Break Down Top

Battlefield of Eternity

Lane with allies. Defend your Angel/Demon Immortal first and focus on Heroes. Zone out the enemy with Zombie Wall and Plague of Toads. Let your assassin(s) do the damage to the Immortal unless you are free to do so.
Gargantuan is the recommended Heroic since the middle is contested for a long period of time and your Guargantuan can deal extra damage to the Immortal. Therefore, Battlefield of Eternity is a contesting-oriented map.

First treasure chest is at 50 seconds. Use your abilities to zone the treasure chests and secure it for your team or use Zombie Wall to attempt a steal.
Maintain control of Pirate Captain area, using the middle maze area to get behind the enemy or attack from afar.
Help team-mates with a surplus of coins, focus enemy heroes with coins.
Gargantuan is the recommended Heroic because treasure chests, merc/coin camps, and middle are contested for long periods. Therefore, Blackheart's Bay is a contesting-oriented map.

Utilize your zoning abilities, and sustainability to contest the curse.
Stay grouped with your team for the objectives.
Gargantuan is the recommended Heroic. This is a push-oriented map where huge level advantages can be gained during the Curse phase.

Take a side lane but you can also lane middle effectively with your sustain.
Dragon Knight is prioritized over anything.
Save your heroic to capture moon or sun shrines.
Gargantuan is the recommended Heroic. This is a contesting-oriented map.

Your zoning is great in the tight lanes and your sustainability is amazing on this map, allowing you to quickly rotate and fight for the Giant Terrors.
Gargantuan is the recommended Heroic. This is a push-oriented map.

Lane with the majority of your team.
Time your capture of your side's Siege Camp so they reach the enemy golem as its about to reach the gate.
Middle mercenary camp can be taken if you lost the mines.
Gargantuan is the recommended Heroic. This is a push-oriented map, contesting is limited to the Mines themselves.

Win the teamfight or zone the enemy team out before you start the objective.
This map has the tendency to snowball quickly due to the strength of the Infernal Titans. This is heavily a contesting-oriented because of the Shrines' importance and frequency so you want to maximize contesting traits. Ravenous Spirit could allow you to kill more minions and zone enemies out of the Shrines.

Take top or middle lane to begin. Zone the enemy out of the Temples.
Gargantuan is the recommended Heroic. The Temple zones and boss camp are contesting-oriented.

Since the lanes are so close together you can maintain a 4-man gank squad that roams top and middle lane while an ally soaks bottom lane.
Turn in the Spider Gems frequently but don't turn in near enemies.
Gargantuan is the recommended Heroic. This is a push-oriented map, contesting is limited.

Zoning is very important for this map and the small lanes near the top Towers really compliment your Zombie Wall. Rotate from mid to bottom lane for ganks but make sure you are soaking all three lanes effectively.
Gargantuan is the recommended Heroic. While some parts of the map are small, there are not too many walls for you to Ravenous Spirit behind.
