Introduction Top

Hello,

My name is Jon and I am a gamer from the UK. I spend the majority of my day gaming, the rest is spent updating my YouTube channel and going to the gym. I've really come to enjoy Heroes of the Storm from it's release and I thought I'd give anybody who reads this a few tips and tricks on the way I play different characters in Ranked on Heroes of the Storm. I understand the following guide is nowhere near as in-depth as other people's guides. However, I just don't have the time to go into that much detail. I'm sorry :(

Anyway... I hope you enjoy.

Jon.

Basic overview Top

Gazlowe is a champion that is mainly know for his ability to siege very well. But he's also good at providing hefty damage and cc when built in different ways.

Basic Abilities:

Rock-It! Turret (Q)

You use your Q to zone out enemies either in a team-fight or an objective. You can also use your Q to push lanes and clear camps with ease. Being able to place well positioned turrets during a team-fight or whilst protecting an objective can be the difference between losing or winning a team-fight.

Remember to always spread out your turrets so that the don't get AOE'd by the enemy team.

Deth Lazor (W)

This should be used to finish off low health carry's in a team-fight and also to push and poke the enemy team at the start of the laning phase. Whatever, you do. Don't spend half the team-fight charging this to deal very little damage to the enemy team. Because, if you do... the chances are you'll lose die because of lack of mobility and/or you'll lose the team-fight. You're probably better off refraining from using this ability for the majority of the game. Unless it's absolutely needed for the distant damage.

Xplodium Charge (E)

This is one of the most important abilities for my build shown above. This is used in combination with your Grav-O-Bomb 3000 to provide huge damage and also great CC. However, when your ultimate is down. You can still use this ability to zone enemies. If placed correctly, you can cause an enemy hero to have to completely back-off or change his route whilst he's attacking you.

Trait

Salvager (D)

This is very important to remember. I see countless amount of Gazlowe players forgetting to salvage their turrets that aren't in range or have surpassed their use. You simply use this on a turret when you're changing lane, heading up to an objective or have a turret that's out of range in a team-fight to then greatly reduce the overall cooldown of your basic abilities and provide you with another turret to place down in a better position.

Pro's and Con's Top

Gazlowe is a strong champion in my opinion. Although others may think differently, an opinion is still an opinion. However, the reasons to why I feel Gazlowe is a strong pick shall be like in the "pro's" below. However, I shall include a "con's" list to include a non-biased description.

Pro's
- Ability to zone out players with Turrets
- High burst damage if built correctly
- Good camp clear
- Good siege character if built correctly
- Overall strong objective champion
- Extremely versatile

Con's
- Not the most "tanky" character there is
- Mobility is quite low
- Reliant on turrets
- He is highly reliant on perfect positioning to provide full damage and also survive a team fight.

When should you pick Gazlowe in ranked? Top

As Gazlowe is a highly versatile champion. He can provide a team with many different roles. He can siege, he can provide damage and he can be a royal pain in the a**.

You should pick Gazlowe in ranked when the enemy team is filled with champions that are easily zoned. Characters such as; Jaina, Kael'Thas, Nazeebo, Zagara and others with the same sort of play-style. You should also pick Gazlowe vs tanks such as; Stiches. This is due to the fact that you can block his pulls with a turret. Meaning you can protect your carry or yourself and/or any other member of your team.

As I said before. Gazlowe is a very versatile champion and can be played in almost every role-set in Heroes of the Storm. Just judge what the enemy team is compiled of and make your decision off whether you think Gazlowe will succeed or not in being useful during the game.
