Early Game/Laning Top
Don't use your Q to wave clear. Flamestrike kills your mana pool.
Instead, we'll be using Kael'Thas' passive,
Verdant Spheres, combined with
Living Bomb.
Living Bomb is a nice DoT with a moderate explosion at the end of it's duration. When you activate Verdant Spheres, your Living Bomb has no cooldown and, most importantly, costs no mana. As Verdant Spheres only has a 6 second cooldown, we can essentially spam Living Bomb and keep our mana for avoiding ganks or pressuring an enemy hero.
Activate VS, put LB on the mage or a melee minion, then auto attack until the VS is up again.
Once we hit level 7 and gain the 75% increase to the explosion damage, you can clear a wave in one LB and a few autos.
Damage Combo Top
The combo is fairly simple.
Verdant Spheres ->
Living Bomb ->
Gravity Lapse ->
Flamestrike ->
Living Bomb ->
Pyroblast
If the target isn't dead by now, a VS Flamestrike should finish it. Note that this combo also works well against multi target, as our level 13 and 16 talents cause the Living Bomb explosion to spread Living Bomb to others, and slow.
It's up to you to determine if you want to use VS on Living Bomb or Gravity Lapse. If you can line up 2-3 heroes in one GL, it's much better to have the extra CC than the extra burst from LB.
Pyroblast does insane damage, but has a 2 second cast time. Use this towards the end of the combo to finish someone off. I've found people come out of the Gravity Lapse around half health, and at that point the Pyroblast will kill them, especially if you have Gathering Power stacks. Low health players also tend to run towards their group, causing the Pyroblast to AoE them, and your Living Bomb to explode on them and spread the Bomb to them as well.
More to come, will pretty this up later, just wanted to get a day 1 out.
