Healer Build

This is a standard healing build for Anduin. You should choose between Lightbomb and Holy Word: Salvation according to what you feel is better for the game.

Aggressive Build

Generally I would pick these talents if I feel I can get away with playing more aggressively; usually when the team doesn't have hard engage ( E.T.C. Diablo) or poke ( Li-Ming Hanzo) as examples.

Alternative Build

This build is almost best of both worlds; it is to provide decent healing and utility while still providing means to play more aggressive. I take Blessed Recovery against burst heroes like Valeera or Zeratul. Late game you have the ability to use Leap of Faith twice which is good against compositions with more than 1 form of hard CC.

Who is Anduin? Top

Anduin is a healer hero from the world of World of Warcraft. He provides single target and AoE healing as well as a single target snare.

Strengths & Weaknesses Top

Strengths
+Good single target healing
+Can easily protect himself
+Ability to save heroes from situations they would otherwise have 0 chance of survival

Weaknesses
-Low mobility
-Good positioning required
-Single target heal has a casting time that can be interrupted by moving

Abilities Top

Trait: Leap of Faith
This trait gives you the ability to get that MVP regardless if the game gives it to you or not. This can save lives and change fights. Good against burst damage, CC, heavy engage heroes.

Q: Flash Heal
It's a good heal and has a low mana cost and a low casting time, however I have found myself cancelling the heal a few times due to wanting to move and the heal doesn't go through, thus being a warning for everyone to make sure they don't do that.

W: Divine Star
A very good AoE healing spell, requires good positioning and timing to be used to its full potential.

E: Chastise
A single target root that travels fairly slow so that can make it harder to hit. Good for disengaging.

R: Holy Word: Salvation
This ultimate can be a big game changer if used right. You and allies within the zone are protected from damage as well healing your allies. Please remember that you can still be affected by crowd control abilities.

R: Lightbomb
This ultimate can be used both offensively and defensively, however if you're going to be playing defensively then I would probably choose holy word unless the enemy team has a lot of melee heroes.

Talent Breakdown Top

Green = good
Amber/Orange = situational
Red = not useless, but shouldn't be considered if not familiar with the hero

Tier 1 - Level 1

Good:
This is now the go-to if you want to maximise your healing output. It synergies well with Moral Compass at level 4.

The increase of cooldown for this talent does make it less worthwhile, however it is still viable.

Almost useless:
It's not useless, but it's the worst out of all 3 and I would never choose it.

Tier 2 - Level 4

Good:
The best option if you chose Renew at level 1, it works well to give Anduin extra damage and healing ability.

A good option if you're worried about your positioning or if you're against a comp that you don't wish to get too close to, if you pick this then I recommend varians legacy at level 20.

Almost useless:
It's not useless......but you will more than likely miss Chastise a lot, which makes the talent much more useless than the other talents available.

Tier 3 - Level 7

Good:
Good for any situation and provides good and reliable self protection.

Allows Anduin to sustain himself in longer fights, generally this is good if the enemy does not have burst or hard engage heroes and you find some skirmishes lasted a long time.

Gives Anduin good survivability against burst champions like Kel'Thuzad, Kael'thas, Valeera.

Tier 4 - Level 10

Good:
The only downside to this ultimate is that it does not block enemy crowd control which means it will be cancelled if you are stunned for example. It makes you a huge target but you also save the entire team and can turn around any fight, so hopefully your team realises that and protects you.

After playing with it more, I can see it being really useful for and against heroes with the ability to close the gap. Placing it on your engaging tank or bruiser will stun enemies and give a shield to protect the targeted hero. It also has a reasonable cooldown.

Tier 5 - Level 13

Good:
A solid and simple choice that works in almost all situations. You don't know what to pick? Pick this.

This is good if you prefer the movement speed while in combat, another solid pick.

Almost useless:
Just doesn't provide as much movement speed as the other two talents.

Tier 6 - Level 16

Good:
A great option if you like to keep your allies alive efficiently, especially any that are being focused by the enemy. This will also reset the cooldown of your Flash Heal after you use Desperate Prayer, allowing it to go back on normal cooldown.

The only bad thing is the cooldown, but this is a great option and gives very good bonus healing.

Almost useless:
You will be using Flash Heal on the same ally a lot, which means this talent becomes redundant.

Generally not efficient if you don't get the explode bonus and then becomes dependant on the cooldown of Divine Star.

Tier 7 - Level 20

Good:
Makes Leap of Faith even more worth while, it basically gives you 2 cleanses.

A do or die heal that can make a big difference if you see a team mate about to lose a fight or die, you do have to channel it for 2 seconds which requires you to have good positioning. THIS IS ALMOST A MUST IF YOU TOOK Inner Focus, THE SYNERGY IS REAL.

Situational:
An aggressive talent to choose and provides good reliability in fights that last a long time. When paired with Inner Fire this makes the talent even more desireable.

Almost useless:
The ultimate is already really good but has a long cooldown, so the other 3 talents at this level are much moree useful.

Conclusion Top

Anduin is a great healer pick, I can see him being useful in a lot of situations and can also add great value to offensive situations as well as being good in defensive situations.

My ranking: A Tier
