Introduction Top
Hello everyone!
I'm Astraeus-27, I have been playing HotS since the beta when I was granted access. I am a huge spellcasting fan, so when I heard Li-Ming was coming to HotS I was excited to play her.
I primarily play her as a high burst assassin to try and get that passive reset as many times as possible in a team fight, it can turn the tide of the battle easily if you keep your wits about you.
This is my favorite build for Li-Ming so far, and I think it is very strong, although against some comps it may need some tweaking, no build is perfect.

Abilities Top
(Q) Magic Missiles
Fire three missiles toward an area, each dealing 293 (153 + 3.5% per level) damage to the first enemy hit.
Arcane Orb (W) Arcane Orb
Fire an orb that powers up as it travels, dealing 154.50 (+3% per level) damage to the first enemy hit. The amount of damage dealt is increased the further it travels, up to 463.50 (+3% per level) damage.
(E) Teleport
Teleport a short distance instantly.
Disintegrate (R) Disintegrate
Channel a powerful beam, dealing 462.00 (+5% per level) damage over 2.50 seconds to enemies while they are in it. The direction of the beam changes with your mouse cursor position.
Wave Of Force (R) Wave of Force
Knock away all enemies from an area and deal 168.00 (+5% per level) damage.
Critical Mass (Passive) Critical Mass
Getting a Takedown will refresh the cooldown on all of your Abilities.
Talent Choices Top
Tier One:
Power Hungry
Gives you the extra mana you need for spamming your spells, and a little extra damage that will be there more often than not.
Tier Two:
Charged Blast
This will give you a bit more damage when you are poking, and a little extra burst when you are going in for a kill.
Tier Three:
Calamity
Calamity is what makes this build strong, it has great damage and a good sized area, can easily make the difference between being killed and getting the kill. I.E. Teleport in for the kill, reset, teleport out.
Tier Four:
Disintegrate
Li-Ming's ult spot is pretty flexible, while Disintegrate has great damage and is preferred when you are able, Wave of Force has great utility. Don't be afraid to drop Disintegrate to get some damage out there or on one person, it gets reset as well.
Tier Five:
Illusionist
Illusionist with Calamity is great, even without Calamity, Illusionist would allow you to escape tricky situation, but with Calamity it has the potential to add a good chunk of damage.
Tier Six:
Diamond Skin
Diamond Skin, Illusionist, and Calamity combine to make excellent combo situations which will put you on top. 25% Life shield is pretty major, while the other talent choices here I feel are kind of lackluster.
Tier Seven:
Tal Rasha's Elements
Tal Rasha's Elements is great when you are using Calamity, so you can have four damage spells that get the 20% damage bonus, making that one kill for your resets all too easy.
Playstyle Top
In my opinion, the best way to play with this build is to use your
and
to poke down from range, auto attacking when possible, picking up health globes to keep that
buff up in lane, using
to dodge skill shots or to escape other assassins.
Once you get to
you use it for a final blow or to put your opponent on a back foot, as they often won't be expecting you to jump onto them, especially with that burst of damage from Calamity. Once you have Disintegrate you can often use it to easily finish off a retreating opponent or to deter an aggressor.
The late game is all about
just keep casting on a rotation, you will mostly find yourself using
and
back and forth with 20% extra damage, then going in with
or a nice
across their team.
It's important to remember when playing
that you always want to be the aggressor, not the aggressee.
That is my opinion on what I think to be an extremely strong hero, remember that this is just one of many builds, that being said I hope you enjoy this build and find it as fun/devastating as I do. Thanks for reading and good luck on the nexus!
