why flamthrower instead of chain bomb?

Because you need the extra range to hit Flamestrike, and also allows you to stay at the back line where u are supposed to be. If u take chain bomb u will have to endanger yourself and make urself an easy target and i dont usually take bolt of the storm so i dont have any escape.
