I found going Viking Hoard definitely helped for survivability in comparison to going Olaf start: since the other players in a game will always see Erik and try to pop him, it's just easier to be able to hoard as much regen as possible... or at least it has been for me. Baleog is also fairly squishy within those first laning levels.

Versing a primarily Assassin group is also very saddening. Zeratul and Nova can be game-breaking for you :(

I'm looking forward to playing them more, I just don't feel like they're all that amazing for me in solo queues - in groups, their ultimate is delightful!

yeah ;D ofc this will need alot of tweaking and things ;D and i understand that pick, its a great one aswell. but when i played with it most people just ignored olaf and the others did not get any survivability, but i only tried it one game so ;D

Just picked up the vikings yesterday and this is pretty similar to how I played them!!
One thing I would change is the tier 1 talent. Honestly Olaf should be the only one taking any damage and he regens health when out of combat. I think block is a much more viable pick because it adds more survivability to the vikings since Olaf is always in front and often gets focused (though smart opponents won't) this is what I do but again they've been out for a day so I'll have to see how I feel after trying more builds!!
