Gameplay Philosophy w/ Talents Top

Give Me More!

As a ranged fighter you need a way to hold a lane as well as survive burst as you are a primary target. 150% effectiveness on your healing ability allows for this. It will allow you to survive ganks especially when you push a bodyblocking melee away with penetrating shot.

Focused Attack

Raynor is a very hard hitting ranged character. When you combine his quick attacks with a crit, he does massive damage. There is no point in getting vampire when you have super healing from the level 1 talent. Lower cooldown on penetrating shot is unnessary because you will only be using it to get melees off of you and to execute runners.

Revolution Overdrive

This allows you to escape from dives as well as enables your team to swarm enemies. Very good offensive and defensive pick. Penetrating shot slow is self defeating because of later talents. Fight or Flight is uncontrollable and worthless with this build. Merc Lord is better taken by a specialist.

Raynor's Raiders

The Raiders are always going to be better than hyperion. Most enemy teams can stand inside Hyperion and wipe your team. Raiders can take out back row fighters or make them run from the fight. It is especially great against cloakers. It will prevent them from going stealth for 22 seconds making for easy kills.

Double-Barreled

Once Raynor is level 13, you can solo any character, especially Illidan. Auto attack until they do something threatening like evasion. Blast him away. He runs in auto attack more, he ults, blast him away. He should be dead. If not, use Raiders. Combined with Level 16 talent, you can do 900 damage shots. The alpha damage is way better than the pitter-patter of Giant Killer.

Bullseye

Combined with Double-Barrel from level 13, this talent will allow you to kill anyone you catch solo. Also, it will stop any threat to your backrow such as a tank or illidan/sonya with the high damage/pushback and stun.

Nexus Frenzy

Every game I have played, I have been dived on excessively come late game as Raynor. That is where Nexus Frenzy shines. With the passive 120% range, with an additional 20%: 144% multiplicative or 140% additive, whatever they use, you will be so far back that the enemy team will lose 1-2 heroes just rushing to you. With your W, you will be attacking at 1.87 attacks a sec also. No point in getting level 2 Heroic because if they die, that talent is worthless.

Tactics Top

Since Raynor has the longest range auto attack in the game, it is best to stand away from minions when attacking the enemy heroes or minions. This will allow you to push while avoiding the aoe they will use on minion waves. IF they start casting aoes on you, you will see it coming as they have to close in on you to be able to cast it. If someone like Illidan bodyblocks you, Q him into your walls. Your self-heal will keep you up.
