Hello Everyone,

I'm banjopossum - I'm a new player to the MOBA scene. I've been fortunate that I've been quite successful in my games so far. Despite the fact that understanding the finer points of any MOBA takes years of patience and practice, something I certainly do not have, I hope you give this build serious consideration. The fact that I have only played maybe 300 matches of any MOBA total should not deter you. I think being a beginner and having as many consecutive wins as I've had with this build is excuse enough to give it a whack. Thanks again for reading and I hope you have as much fun dominating with this build as I have!

Ego Death Top

Tyrande is a frustrating character to learn: her toolbox is attractive but the results you get from this unique kit vary wildly when you first pick her up. I've recently decided that in order to truly be successful with Tyrande, one must put aside their own desire to top the charts in any specific category (that is not to say you won't top them frequently, but that should not be your primary concern). And while we can all admit she has clutch last-second killing blow capabilities with her owl, we shouldn't keep our eyes and cooldowns away from what's most important: our team.

Most other players will have 'bigger' (not better) spells than Tyrande: beefier heals, heavier damage. This gives you the illusion that your character is inadequate in both categories. Pay this no mind. Tyrande can consistently stick it out with the best of support and assassin characters, usually behind by only a few thousand points in healing and siege/hero damage. This is probably the most crucial point I need to make about this character: she has a high skill cap, she's frustrating, but ********it, is she worth it.

You will be like a silent cowboy rolling into town in your quick/hero matches. You show up, no one pays you any mind, you absolutely destroy the opposition through your support, and without getting so much as a nod from your teammates, you quietly disappear with yet another victory.

Destroy your ego. Secure your victory.

Leadership is not a popularity contest; it's about leaving your ego at the door. The name of the game is to lead without a title.

The Build Top

Talent 1 - Rangers Mark
This will be your most important spell for securing kills and beefing up your teams overall damage outpout. One point I will emphasize and reiterate throughout this guide is that it is one thing to improve Tyrande as an assassin and a healer, but what you can contribute to your team as a whole will have a much greater impact. Giving your team the chance to deal 25% more damage to any merc, enemy player or objective will far outweigh the benefits of scouting (dps owls?) or manna conservation (you perform exceptionally at little to no manna).

Which brings me to my next point: you need next to nothing to cast hunters mark. OOM and can't out DPS your target? Good thing you can give EVERYONE FOCUSING THAT TARGET A 25% DAMAGE BUFF. If you are consistently dropping good hunter marks, you are cleaning shop.

Talent 2 - Focused Attack
This talent tier is really optional and based on personal preference and play style. I choose focused attack because of the psychological impact it has on enemy players: when one pops, they have an 'oh sh*% I thought tyrande didn't do damage' moment and will often times give you the distance necessary to flee, drink, weeds, support other players etc.

That being said, I understand when I need to pick healing ward. I never pick the shield because the cool down is hella weak (lol, hella), doesn't have an overarching team impact like healing ward, and is just 1 more button to worry about that I rather wouldn't (lazy).

Talent 3 - Lunar Blaze
Hey kids its me, Don't F$(ing Die Bear! I'm hear to teach about the dangers of OooOoover ExteeNdIIng!!

Tyrande is one of the squishiest characters by far and often suffers from I-have-enough-distance-and-time-for-this. This results in a LOT of deaths. Fortunately, Lunar blaze will give you the distance you need to stay on the field (seriously, you're not going to top the charts every game. Stay alive and be there for your team. grammar;). And what ELSE does lunar blaze do?! By increasing the casting distance, it actually gives you a HIGHER chance at successfully hitting your enemy!! AND GUESS WHAT ELSE?! YOUR WHOLE TEAM CAN ATTACK WHATEVERTHEF^$ GET HITS BY IT! Are you starting to see the pattern here? You are one with your team: you control who lives and who dies. You control who is seen and who doesn't get away with 1% hp. Give your team a stunned fleeing idiot, and I give you a take down. Seal a warrior with hunters mark and a stun, and watch them crumble to the ground.

HRRRRRRRAAAAAAAGGGHH!!

Talent 4 - Starfall
Alright guys: remember that one time I was all 'Tyrande is super squishy LOL don't die!11oneone1'? Well here's the things: this spell is another one of those things that gives you a chance to create greater distance and maybe pop off that clutch lunar blaze you've grown to love so much. Your team will also thanklessly benefit from the reduced enemy speed and, did you pop your hunters mark?!, get painfully quick kills in the process.

Not to mention when you need to clear a massive wave of minions that's formed up on your top keep. Maybe that'll close the level gap or push you even farther in the green. Oh what's that? Benefits for everyone? This is beginning to feel like a familiar tune.

Talent 5 - Overflowing Light
Man oh man. Don't tell me: visibly meaningful burst heals? HEALS ARE FOR KEEPING OTHER TEAMMATES ALIVE FOR ON YOUR TEAM. YOU ARE BENEFIT FROM WHEN OTHER PLAYERS STILL PLAY ON MAP AND NOT IN GRAVEYARD. PICK TALENT.

Tier 6 - True Shot Aura
This is one where I'm gonna put my ******** foot down because this is America and I'm allowed to have an opinion: pick this talent. Whatever you think you might be accomplishing with any other talent on this tree is complete horseradish and you probably don't pay taxes if you think otherwise.

Your butcher. Your valla. Your dog. Your neighbors dog. His minions. My grandma's mercs. Your presence alone gives your team godlike DPS. If you were falling behind in the game, trust me, it's going to now swing in your favor if you can keep everyone together. I will drop the mic on this one and say 'I'm out'. Pick the talent.

Talent 7 - Nexus Frenzy
Wow your team made it this far without securing a victory? Hm. Anyway, I know I said all that stuff about not being super cool with your dps, but pick this talent anyway. Since your basic attacks are improved by your second talent choice, you will find the additional damage output stacked with your team and hunters mark and trueshot aure sadkahsihrwuadnwada/.

Oh yeah and the distance is nice as well. Just stay alive a little longer end game, yah know?

Playstyle Top

Keep your distance. Stay behind your team. Stay in weeds. Lane by observing when your allies might charge for an attack on enemies in the early game and pop hunters mark. Once the enemy has taken enough damage to flee, back up and let it go. Unless of course you know for a FACT that you can land that own and secure the takedown. Otherwise, return to your lane and position your lunar blaze to hit as many minions as possible (4 is the max is a normal minion formation). Hit the weeds and basic attack. Heal ally, rinse and repeat. Enjoy laning like a boss! And never, NEVER lane alone. You kinda suck at anything that involves being alone. You may be the silent cowboy but you're not the lone ranger. Stick with someone. Anyone. and.. DESTROY.

Heal. Never yourself. Never.

Use owl primarily for vision and less frequently to secure killing blows. It may be best practices early on to use it the second it is off cool down whenever you find yourself in a 'roaming' situation or ahead of your minions or allies. This will force you to dismount/remount/stop to cast, slowing you down, and giving you a chance to secure a defensive position (squishy squishy!).

If you made it this far god bless yah.

bp out.
