No-Risk Alarak build: Why pick this build? Top

The reason behind choosing this build besides the talents is stated in the title. No risk usually means you get value from these talent picks. Like they say though, high risk can yield high reward. This is true in regards to Alarak's play-style.

For our first tier 1 talent we have Sustaining Power. This talent is viable if there are no medics on your team, or if you see that the enemy team have multiple AA (auto-attack) heroes like

Our second talent at lv.4 is Show of Force. If the enemy composition doesn't look great for stacking e.i. no , , , or and on top of that they have a and consider taking this talent. You're almost guaranteed to get value from this if you can land all your basic abilities within 2 seconds.

Third talent for lv. 7 is Hindered Motion. The extra silence that comes from seems like a better choice right? Of course, but if you are starting out with Alarak and you have a hard time landing , hindered motion will help your odds of landing those shots. This guide is all about getting that guaranteed dps (damage-per-second).

Here is the ultimate talent for our lv. 10, Deadly Charge. Again, why? The got a buff in the last patch making Alarak unstoppable, plus it does extra damage. That should be the go to talent for lv. 10. Right? Wrong. I'm assuming you don't know when to pop this ultimate at the right time. I have times when I pop this ult(ultimate) and the enemy team dodges or they don't attack me while I'm unstoppable. "...but it can save you in certain situations against and his . Not to mention and her . Also, and . Okay, okay, those are very valid points, but remember you need to know how to time . I'm just saying with if your positioning is right and your team is there you are guaranteed dps. Positioning - meaning you don't get hit while you are channeling because that will interrupt your ult and you have to start all over to try and dive. A team being present will help you not die as soon as you dive in.

At lv. 13 it's Blade of the Highlord. Even for a advanced Alarak player like myself, I find some enemy comps too difficult for or to be useful. I either die too much for or my allies don't die enough for . In this case, I'm stuck with useless talents that don't add damage to Alarak at all. at least guarantees a slight bump in dps. It's five auto-attacks to get the full 35%, but even with one swipe at lv.13 you should be adding 20 extra to , 10 to , and 6 to . My math might be a bit off, but I believe it's close enough to those numbers.

We are almost finished with this guide. Maybe grab a drink with some chips. Our lv.16 talent is Mocking Strikes. I love this talent. It's my go to talent, if I'm not greedy. This works well combined with the previous talents you picked if you were following along to this guide, or if you didn't miss-click your talents. and will allow you to speed up the time you can use your abilities again. The best part is Alarak isn't mana intensive, but Mocking Strikes will change that. The good news is, if you landed all your combos the enemy team will be dead. Suggest to your team to take to help aid this talent. There are more heroes, but the ones listed have a constant or big ult that helps Alarak reduce his cool down. Some of the heroes mentioned will need to choose abilities or ults that will assist Alarak in reducing his cool downs for abilities.

Finally, our lv.20 is Last Laugh. The other ults for lv. 20 either increase your damage or lowers your damage. This one preserves your damage. If you find yourself between a rock and a hard place this talent will rescue you. Be mindful, if your positioning was really bad it won't always be the case. There are games I saved the match because I was the last one alive from a brutal team fight. Now, I don't know how many of you Alarak players know this or bothered to read the talent, but if you hit heroes with 3 of your abilities within 4 seconds (not including any ults) you won't lose your health. Don't pick this ult if there's a or . They'll chase you down and they'll have the last laugh. Watch out for minions as well. If they do have those characters go with .

I hope you enjoyed my personal take on the Alarak No-Risk guide. You may have noticed in other guides seeing the same information. It's true I can't take all the credit for this guide. Biggest influence on my Alarak play is RyomaGG. There are other good Alarak guides on heroesfire as well. This guide overall is going to be long because I wanted to cover every talent.

Sith Lord Alarak Build [High Risk High Reward] Top

This guide will be less wordy. I'm assuming you are a high level player or more than familiar with Alarak's playstyle.

Lv. 1 This talent offers extra cc for Alarak once you hit 15 players with the core or 3 players with the core. It's low cd, poke, and slow works well against a heavy melee team. This also works well against .

Lv. 4 I always get this against . The extra bodies will make it easy to stack. It's a better choice than because there's unlimited stacking, whereas Chaos Reigns has a cap. Which means UNLIMITED POWERRRR!

Lv. 7 Extra silence, which allows you to pounce on characters that can't afford to be silenced, such as . In short, it's great against all those pesky Overwatch heroes. It disrupts ults too. Particularly,

Lv.10 For Alarak's that know how to time this ult, it is the better ult. It can save you from one shot ults from . Plus, it's not too uncommon for an Alarak to blow up the enemy team with this ult.

Lv. 13 For this talent you need to get near an enemy hero to place it upon them. You're not guaranteed to boost up your damage if you don't hit them with Discord Strike. So why bother? Unlimited stacking. If you die you start back from scratch. Worth it.

Lv. 16 This is where you kick it into third gear. This talent melts enemy heavy front-liners. Just careful on the positioning. Alarak is suppose to punish bad positioning, but can easily find himself out of position quickly.

Lv. 20 By now, your lv. 16 talent should've caught you up to at least 100%-300% lightning stacks. No joke. With the recent patch it's easy for me to hit 250% on a daily basis. Pop this talent to make the enemy team realize their mistake for bunching for safety. This is where Alarak brings in the ultimate cc late game.

Auto-Attack Alarak Build [Medium Risk] Top

Yes, there is a auto-attack build for Alarak. This is it. Works well with . Let me explain.

Lv. 1 You'll need the extra heals. Getting close with the enemy in order to auto-attack usually results in Alarak getting scratched up.

Lv. 4 I feel with auto-attackers they are more of a focus type killer. The quests will distract you from your focus of killing the enemy team one-by-one. Skip the other talents.

Lv. 7 Isolating your enemy so they can't retreat or counter is the way of the assassin.

Lv. 10 This will require good positioning and timing. Closing the gap between you and your prey is critical for this build to work.

Lv. 13 Since you are up close and trying an auto-attack build this talent works well in this case.

Lv. 16 Finally, the one talent that makes Alarak a true auto-attacker. I know it's a late game talent. You might be regretting choosing the auto-attack build, but like I said in some situations it calls for it. Usually, you jump on the squishies and after landing all of your combos a few swipes with the auto will finish them off two swipes quicker if you didn't pick this build. That could mean a dead Chromie or Jaina.

Lv. 20 Personally, I feel counter-strike will allow you to secure a kill once you dive the backline. This can be switched with . This will allow you to go in-and-out after the dirty deed is done.

Excuse Me, But You Are Too Close To The Highlord Build [Average Risk] Top

The beauty of Alarak is how many builds you can come up with. This build is meant to mitigate the threat that comes from enemy divers aka , etc (not to be confused with . Many times, you'll find yourself being the focus of the entire enemy team. For good reason to. A good Alarak can easily become the main focus of a enemy team that finds themselves losing because of you.

Lv.1 Let's go ahead and predict the enemy team are going to make you their pinata. You'll need the extra heal to stay viable in a team fight.

Lv.4 The more the enemy team surrounds you, the more you need to show them to back-off. They'll notice a chunk of their HP is missing after attacking you.

Lv.7 This talent adds escape not just for you, but your teammates as well. It's not only great for engaging targets, but pushing multiple angry enemy heroes away when your whole team is losing the battle. Also, if you press Alt+W which should be the button to trigger it will seamlessly push you in the direction you are headed. Just make sure you are moving in the desired direction otherwise you'll find yourself closer to the enemy team than the opposite.

Lv.10 If you get swarmed by the enemy team and they are shooting all of their ults and abilities on you this can save you in some cases. That'll teach them to get close to you without your permission.

Lv.13 I usually put this on tanks that can't help the urge to get close to me. If they continue just keep using . Eventually, they'll notice you are getting stronger and they are dying quicker. More reasons not to get close to the Highlord.

Lv.16 Still finding the enemy team not learning their lesson? Here's a little tip. Pull them in with and release on their whole team. Auto-attack to get a reduction on your cool-downs. Rinse and repeat. Finish them off with .

Lv.20 No luck from the previous talent? Still dying, a bunch? Use this talent as a last resort to escape from the enemy team that is still making you their prime target. A good amount of the time you'll be getting away.

I hope you enjoyed this build and it brings you success.

Sustained Poking Alarak Build [Not Your Average Build] Top

Welcome to another viable build I've tested. This build works wonders if you have double support on your team. These are the supports I favor in this scenario . I would say Lt. Morales, but I like Li Li because she can go the dps route, whereas with Lt. Morales I feel she's only good for healing and has a harder time escaping.

Lv.1 The extra 20% cd reduction to abilities will allow Alarak to do more poke to enemy heroes. It's great for laning, especially if you have a healer by your side. Overall, I feel this talent is underrated. It allows you to do more Alarak things at an early stage. I feel there's no other solo hero that does more damage than Alarak with this talent under his belt.

Lv.4 It should be noticeable by now I have a weakness for lightning. The other talents work well with the cd reduction from your first talent. can be stacked more quickly and do higher damage, but in some cases like I mentioned earlier, if they have a and a consider . I forgot to mention as well if the team is heavy on invisis like you'll want to go . Usually, the melee ambushers, excluding (great for stacks) pop in and leave without staying for tea. Fewer bodies to hit make the quests not that desirable.

Lv.7 This enhancement ties in well with the rest of the talents chosen so far. Sustain heroes usually need a great escape so they can keep poking. This allows Alarak to get closer to the enemy lines and continue the deadly onslaught of lightning pokes.

Lv.10 Once Ana uses you should position yourself in front of the enemy team. One of them will be tempted to auto attack you or use an ability. The 30% buff from nano boost will definitely be noticed by the enemy team. The double support at this point should focus their heals on you so you don't die early. Be cautious because counter ana's nano boost.

Lv.13 Besides, powering up , this talent synergies with . Let's say you placed it on or (the viking decides to stay at base to deny you a increase in sadism). It happens, but the cool down reduction is most noticeable with . You'll be able to use your lv.13 talent again.

Lv.16 Ruthless Momentum, Nano Boost, and Mocking Strikes. You'll exhaust all your mana because your abilities will be up in no time.

Lv.20 Maybe let Ana know you are going in for a dive. Follow it up with . The enemy team should be half dead after the ult combo.

Let me know your thoughts on this build. If some other strategist came up with this let me know. I'd like to credit them.
