Hi, my name is Sugimori! I have a Youtube channel, and a Twitch channel where I play some video games like Heroes of the Storm, StarCraft, and Overwatch mostly. I am and always have been an analytical gamer trying to discover the best builds, and hate playing the meta. In my opinion, if the enemy knows what I will build due to what the meta dictates then the enemy will have the advantage. Off stream I like to play games like Dota 2 as well, so I have no shortage of MOBA experience and many times inspiration comes from Dota as well. More guide stuff to come in the future.

The Build Top

Important Note:

Do not just blindly use the above pictures as your build for every game. Please read/watch as many of the talents are very situational.

In September 2017 Blizzard reworked Lt. Morales. They wanted to introduce more talent options to make the medic feel less stale. They removed mana requirements from all of her skills, and made her Healing Beam require energy. This energy can be restored either by not healing, or from certain talent choices. Lt. Morales may now heal herself by healing teammates with her talent Caduceus Reactor instead of leaving this up to a talent a talent (the outdated Couples Therapy).

The goal of this build is to play Lt. Morales the way she always has been played. Being a support and hiding behind your team and keeping everyone alive. You need to be actively thinking about your positioning and keeping as much distance between you and your biggest threats. Our talent choice at level 16 Extended Care will allow you to heal from further away so you can be much harder to reach for the enemy team. Beware though as gankers like Nova and Valeera will use this fact to pick you off if you aren't careful. Try to Keep close to your team as much as you can but if the team fight is getting too close to you, let Extended Care's range be a safety net so you may back up and stay alive.

All-in-all, I think Blizzard did a good job in this rework to change up the talent choices, as many of them are situational. In fact, this is the longest "other options" section that I have written to date. See the next section to decide what you should actually be picking for your specific lineup.

Other Options Top

Level 7

Physical Therapy will be a great option if the enemies have a lot of slowing abilities on their team. When you remove slows using Safeguard you will also reduce the cooldown by 1/3.

Vanadium Plating Is great for enemy teams that have a large amount of stuns. If they stun your ally who has Safeguard on, your ally will gain double the armor, and the armor will be extended by the duration of the stun.

Prolonged Safeguard will synergize with Life Support (more time Safeguard is up, more potential of restoring energy, more time for heals). This is a good option if the enemies don't seem particularly heavy on either stuns or slows.

All 3 talents at this level are good. You need to justify for yourself if the enemies have more slows, stuns, or you would like double duration of armor for your team.

Level 10

If you have an auto attacker on your team that could really benefit from movement and attack speed buffs ( The Butcher, Raynor, Valla, etc.), then pick up Stim Drone. Blizzard buffed the ability in this patch so that it only takes 0.5 seconds to cast instead of 1.

If it seems like you may not get the greatest effectiveness out of Stim Drone, pick Medivac Dropship as your talent for level 10. It's a great skill, and it can get your team to map objectives quickly, or back from death quickly into the fight. This skill will also synergize with a later pick in Reinforcements.

Level 16

In all honesty, Extended Care is probably the best option in basically all situations. However, if you feel safer being right in the middle of your team and afraid of the many enemy gankers out for your blood, you may be able to go Shield Sequencer. This will allow you to cast Safeguard twice, and will synergize well with Life Support keeping you healing for as long as possible.

Level 20

If you picked Stim Drone then this is the natural progression. This talent cuts the cooldown in half, and doubles movement speed. If you feel like the team can benefit from this talent, go ahead and pick this.

This talent can be useful if you are doing a lot of flying to objectives and places that may not be entirely safe (like directly on top of battle). This is an OK skill, but in my opinion it is overshadowed by Reinforcements.

Reinforcements is an interesting ability. It drops a medivac dropship at the spawn location and a beacon in the position that you called it from. This is to allow allies at home to get back to you as fast as possible. This is incredibly powerful as an ability because it can bring a team fight that was not in your favor back into your favor. You can also get this if you picked up Stim Drone if you find yourself not using stim very often or maybe the movement speed increase isn't flashy enough for you.

Caduceus Reactor 2.0 is another OK talent choice that doesn't make top tier for me. When using Healing Beam you get healed a little bit more. This may be useful if you are taking a lot of aoe damage that isn't necessarily life threatening, but scaring you into using Hearthstone a bit too often. This may be a more popular choice if you didn't pick up Cellular Reactor at level 4. In my opinion it is the least useful of all 4 talents at this level.
