You Address The Dragon Queen! Top

Alexstrasza has a lot to bring to Hots. She has a unique palate that makes her extremely valuable. She is fully capable of being a solo-healer, or an aggressive support. The Queen of Dragons is as majestic as she is terrifying. The important thing to keep in mind here though, is no matter what build you go, you will be helping your team.

Alexstrasza's trait is Dragonqueen. This allows her to transform into a Dragon for a short period of time. While in Dragon from; Alexstrasza gains a good chunk of health, her healing is increased and she is able to blast enemy heroes away. The one thing to keep in mind is you can still be killed while in Dragon form. It's not like Ragnaros' trait where you return back with full health. You will die if your health runs out.

Her two ultimates are Life-Binder and Cleansing Flame:
Life-Binder is her healing ult) it's a good healing ultimate, however it feels very situational.
Cleansing Flame is both an offensive and defensive ultimate. Alexstrasza takes to the sky and launches 5 volleys, which you control with your cursor, before landing. I recommend practicing and recognizing when you'll land so you don't accidentally end up in a compromising situation. Each volley heals your teammates and damages enemies in the radius. Fun fact: it can damage the core and is loads of fun to finish a match when swooping back down from the sky like the Dragon Queen she is.

Without further ado, let's get rolling.

The Dragon Queen Top

This seems to be the go-to build for many Dragon Mom players, and it's kind of a no brainer as of why. This build focuses on getting you into Dragon mode faster. Finishing Flame of Fury early is key. This will allow you to become that ferocious dragon more often to deny the enemy their objective, kills, and it lets you heal your team better (imo).

1) Flames of Fury is a fairly easy quest to accomplish. Hit a hero with Flame Buffet to make them burn, then thit them again for a small combo burst. I've completed this quest within 5 minutes. This is your main source of power here as it takes off 5 seconds on her Dragonqueen trait. Meaning, you get to become the Dragon more often.

4) Heat Exhaustion increases the slow effect of Flame Buffet. This allows you to get Flames of Fury quest completed faster and set up kills.

Exuberance is another trait one could take. I've only taken this a few times where I felt Alexstrasza's slower moevement speed was a hinderance.

7) Fire Within heals you for 10% each time your Flame Buffet hits a Burning hero. You're already doing the quest with Flame of Fury. This will allow you to maintain your health, and get in the fights more.

10) Cleansing Flame you get to damage your enemies, heal allies, become invulnerable, AND it's great for getting straight into a fight. I love this ultimate. It's so easy to time and lots of fun to use.

13) Life Unbound allows you to heal your team just a bit more. Mostly used for "oh ****" moments, especially when you're on low health.

Pacify is another super helpful option. If you find that taking a specific hero out of the equation for a few seconds will make your life easier? Say no more. This lets you deny enemies kills, particularly high damage melee characters, and others that are equally annoying... (Alarak or Varian for example).

16) Dragonic Discipline lets you use your Dragonqueen trait longer. This is great when paired with Flame of Fury's reward.

20) On Ruby Wings is definetly the upgrade to take here. Landing as the Dragon and staying the Dragon for 15 seconds after landing can be the game changer your team needs, plain and simple.

The Dragon of Life Top

This is a good healing build that doesn't give you a headache by seeing a Tracer or Nova. Alternatively you could be described as "Do you have a Li-Ming on your team that just took Power Hungry? Get ready to be Dragon Mom and que the mayhem".

1) Circle of Life has a super unique reward that no other hero has in game. You spawn regen globes. Yes, you read that right. You can feed all your mana hungry friends and help them complete their globe quests faster if they haven't already. Also, say hello to enabling a Power Hungry Li-Ming.

The other positive thing about this quest is it has a secondary reward at 15/25 globes. Abundance heals an additional 5% health, making it even more useful for the tanks in your group.

4) Surge of Vitality rewards your attentive teammates (and yourself) for standing in the healing puddle. They get a surge of movement speed after being healed.

To be honest, however, I could see either one of these level 4 talents being taken. Heat Exhaustion's additional slow with Flame Buffet could provide kill set ups or to allow you to escape easier. And that personal movement speed from Exuberance can really make a difference sometimes. Up to you.

7) Verdant Flourish makes it easier to maintain your own HP by giving you extra healing from the puddle, and from regen globes (which will come in handy later when you get your quest done!)

10) Cleansing Flame is a great one here as it allows you to not only have an ESCAPE option when a Tracer or Nova show up ready to take you out - but it also lets you heal and kill. You hit two/three birds with one stone.

My reason for not placing Life-Binder here is that the ultimate seems highly situational. If you're able to time it right and have a team that's able to protect you more, this ultimate might be for you instead. I, however, like to stick to the sky and then transform into the Dragon.

13) Life Unbound allows you to heal your team more. It can be frustrating when on low health and mana. This also lets you heal more than one person at a time. Pacify could also work, however I find Life Unbound more effective with this build.

16) Dragonic Discipline lets you use your Dragonqueen trait longer, meaning your extra healing that you do as the Dragon will last longer. You could take Overprotective here instead, however I find being the Dragon for longer is a lot more helpful.

20) Blessing of the Red gives an extra 500 HP to any ally hero for the rest of the game until they die. Then you can place it on them again. This helps give you extra breathing room. It also, in theory, could help that Li-Ming who took Glass Cannon to stay alive long enough to enjoy that extra spell power...
