Always keep up with the strong ones
Bestow Hope should
always be on someone, preferably on a damage dealer Hero. Avoid having it on tanks, but if there is no other option, have it on them. Learning what other Heroes can do is key, and encourages the player to swich Bestow Hope between characters to get the max of the abilities translated into Hope (i.e. switching to
Azmodan when he is about to use
Globe of Annihilation, etc.).
Always start team battles with enough Hope
Ideally, Auriel should always be ready for an engage against the enemy team with her Hope full. This is not always possible, however, since she can only generate Hope when actually hitting anything. Because of this, it is very important to always be a contribution for the team, since she has a strong waveclear through
Sacred Sweep, which when hitting an entire group of minions provides a lot of Hope.
Maximize your reservoir
The core of this build is to provide Auriel with a powerful endgame healing through the interactions of
Glimmer of Hope and
Reservoir of Hope to increase Auriel's maximum Hope energy, which will translate in more healing. The payoff is huge, as if built enough, it can outheal the likes of
Rehgar's
Ancestral Healing.
The idea is to always have the effect provided by Glimmer of Hope active before casting a fully powered
Ray of Heaven, increasing the max energy while retaining 75% of energy, and then picking up another globe before casting again, repeating the process. While it can be hard doing that during actual teamfights, this strategy is great when waveclearing and doing Mercenary Camps; and in this case it is encouraged to cast Ray of Heaven whenever it is full to increase Auriel's max energy.
Master your stuns
Detainment Strike has a very small hitbox and it can be difficult to land properly, specially when you sometimes can end up actually saving the opponent by knocking him away when your team is about to kill them.
Once mastered, however, it becomes a powerful kill setups when actually stunning the opponent. Playing around with your opponent so they have their backs to a wall is a risky, yet effective maneuver if done correctly.
Repeated Offense greatly aids in this matter since the extra knockback is often enough to surprise opponents and stun them against obstacles.
One of the things that makes this ability so great is that the stun applies when hitting virtually any kind of obstacle, not only walls and structures. These are:
