Threat Hero Notes
1
Sgt. Hammer No mobility = she's dead.
1
Murky Can outmaneuver him and catch him when his egg is down.
1
Abathur If you find him he's dead. Save E to get away from turrets.
1
Chromie Dodge or deflect her combo and get in close and she's dead.
1
Probius Don't let him kite you through pylons and ground aoe and it's an easy kill.
2
Lt. Morales Easy target if you can get to the back line intact.
2
Li-Ming Get in close and she can't do much. Dodge her W and it's a free kill.
2
Brightwing Easy if you can burst with his teleport down.
2
Gazlowe Don't let him run you into his turrets and he's a good target.
2
Nova If you catch her she's dead. Don't let her open up on you.
2
Tychus Try to anticipate grenade. Deflect chunks him due to his rapid fire nature. Don't stand in Drakken beam.
2
Valla Use deflect on her bouncing arrow and stick to her. 1v1 she is fairly easy.
2
Raynor Easy target. Wait to use burst until his heal passive has popped.
3
Chen Annoying to kill but not much of a threat.
3
Sonya Wait for her spin to win to use deflect. Can use this to kill low health team mates she is trying to help. Easy to run from.
3
Falstad Easy to catch. Don't get hit by the hammer and you should be fine.
3
The Lost Vikings Individually they are easy. Together they can be annoying to bring down due to them eating all your shurikens separately. Best to pick them off one by one.
3
Kharazim Hard to catch but with no minions or allies around you can bring him down.
3
Li Li Annoying to catch. Use abilities to kill her when she blinds you.
3
Xul Save deflect for root. Try to save mobility for when he uses it if there are others around. Otherwise just eat it and use deflect when he uses his scythe.
3
Zagara Don't get spammed by her abilities and she can go down fairly easy.
3
Leoric Can outmaneuver him and harass him to death. Use deflect when he tries to heal. Save dash if he has the wall ult.
3
Tassadar Don't stand in his ground aoe and you can burst through his shields. Can be hard to kill with invis immmunity and shields.
4
Arthas Don't go melee range with him and dodge his root and he should go down.
4
Lúcio Annoying to catch but has no tools to deal with you other than his wall ride. Try to catch him out in the open.
4
Malfurion Dodge his root and you can kill him. Check his ult at lvl 10 as the silence can get you killed.
4
Ragnaros Keep out of his AoE and use deflect on his Q and you should win.
4
Illidan Either run from him or fight him. Comes down to hero level. Make sure you get the drop on him.
4
Gul'dan Don't get hit by his poison and try to catch him with low mana. Use deflect on his channel.
4
Zeratul Can burst you pretty hard. Save deflect for his explosion and hopefully his cleave.
4
Zul'jin Don't try to go toe to toe when he is lvl 10. Run while his cheat death is up and move back in for the kill when it's down. Can chunk you hard.
4
Jaina Try to dodge her Q. She can hit you quite hard but deflect can help.
4
Medivh Unless you can see where his portal went don't try to chase. Chances are it's a bait.
4
Rexxar Bear stun can get you killed. Two targets for deflect, though.
4
Tyrande Easy target if you dodge stun.
4
Varian Hard to kill with his parry up but hasn't got many tools to stop you. If he is tank build though, watch for his taunt and pick another target.
4
Zarya Annoying to kill through shields. Don't hit her with them up and use deflect if she tries to channel her beam on you.
4
Dehaka Dodge his tongue and he's an easy kill.
5
Alarak A good Alarak will silence you and make your mobility useless. Dodge his initial silence and you should be fine.
5
Johanna Displacement can kill you but you can avoid it with your swift strike or cyber agility.
5
Tracer Can kite you if she gets the drop on you but a well timed deflect can hurt her.
5
Azmodan Save deflect for his beam and then use mobility to break it. Once you break it he is an easy target for all 3 shurikens in a sustained fight.
5
Nazeebo Poison still ticks after deflect goes down. Dodge his zombie wall and he won't be much of a problem before lvl 20. Stop him from farming his passive.
5
Lunara Poison still ticks after deflect goes down. Dodge her Q and you should be able to kill her unless your mobility is down.
5
Kael'thas Watch for knock up combo.
5
Greymane Can burst you down if you allow him to hit his combo from human form and you are caught with no mobility.
5
E.T.C. Ult will kill you, otherwise not much of a threat.
5
Cassia Don't get hit by her rapid fire attacks without deflect up. Try to use abilities on her while she is running rather than auto attacks as they do reduced damage. Watch for burst.
5
Kerrigan Can combo you to death. Wait for her to try it then go in.
5
Stitches Watch for hook. Can outsustain you and poison you do death with his farts.
5
The Butcher Wait for his charge then jump away. Save deflect for his chain ult. Chances are you might still die but if you're full health when he uses it you might survive. Can outmaneuver him when his ult is down.
6
Samuro Don't bother fighting him without help unless you're sure which image is him.
6
Genji Skill matchup with mirror, as always. Use your mobility to counter his and wait for a stream of auto attacks to deflect.
6
Thrall Can burst you down. Try to anticipate windfury hits to get in easy deflects. At lvl16 his windfury hits 3 times on the final hit so try to get deflect off then - need to be lucky.
6
Cho Hard to kill. If you chase he will bait you into his team. If you are shuriken build you can get a lot of burst off but need the right situation to kill him.
7
  No Threat
8
Valeera If she has the right build she can kill you fairly easily 2v1 with a silence or stun.
8
Uther If he has his Assassin with him a stun can kill you. On his own he can be harassed back to base or killed.
8
Artanis Can burst you down and displace you into his team. Dodge his E and kite.
9
Muradin Can stun you for his team. Durable hero that's hard to kill without help. Can out-sustain you in lane.
10
Anub'arak Heroes with hard CC should be avoided.
10
Diablo Slam dunk = dead.

Genji Top

Genji is a mobile assassin with a hit and run playstyle.

Pros and Cons Top

Genji's Abilities Top

(D) Trait - Cyber Agility Mobility ability. Short range. For chase or disengage. Can hop over walls and dodge skill shots. Really useful for harass and mobility. No mana cost.
(Q) Shuriken Fires three shurikens in a cone. All three can hit the same target if you are close enough. Great for ranged harass and poke. 3 charges and all return at the same time. Use this timing for burst windows.
(W) Deflect Defensive ability. Deflect will grant you immunity and throw a shuriken at the closest enemy each time you would have otherwise taken damage. This has no internal cooldown and will deflect all attacks for a set amount of damage (scaling with level) this means that rapid fire attacks will throw a shuriken for each attack. For example, Tychus' Minigun or any rapid hitting channeled ability such as Guldan's Drain Life. The "protected" status means that you are immune to damage but you are NOT immune to CC such as silences, stuns or roots. Be careful when you use this as a CC will interrupt it.
(E) Swift Strike Damaging mobility ability. Your main execute ability. Use this to finish off low health heroes. Long range, thin skill shot. Take some skill to line up properly. Be aware that the cooldown will reset and mana will be refunded if an enemy hero dies within 2 seconds of a HIT with this skill. This means that if you miss or the hero dies before you get there, then you will not be able to escape from deep dives into their base. Can be used for chase or for escape but make sure you have escape options if you chase too far and get caught. Can be used through walls.

(R1) Dragonblade Damaging mobility ability. Pick this if you are sure you won't be interrupted while using it. You can slash multiple times and any kills while using this ability will reset Swift Strike. Can also be used to disengage rapidly.
(R2) X-Strike Ground targeted AoE damage. Can hit 3 times if enemy is in the exact center of the X pattern. Make sure to use this when an enemy is CC'd or bodyblocked by someone. Can hit an entire team but get squishies in the middle. Can be used as a teleport/immunity as it takes time to deal it's damage.

Shuriken Build Top

Swift as the Wind - When you can't guarantee that you will have terrain to leap over with Pathfinder, this is the best talent for escape. Use it if you're being flanked and make sure you dash through an enemy to proc the speed boost. Can also be used for chasing.

Shuriken Mastery - Great for ranged poke when you finish the quest. Other options aren't synergistic with this build.

Perfect Defense - Good for getting into the thick of things. The more you deflect the lower the cooldown for the next engagement. Perfect for Genji's hit and run playstyle. I use this for both of my preferred builds - the Shuriken Build and the Movement Build.

X-Strike - I prefer this over Dragonblade unless there are no roots, stuns or knockups on your team. Usually someone will have something so wait until an enemy is CCd to use this to ensure the full damage. Be aware that you can ground target this to get away or to dodge abilities and it must be placed on top of an enemy to hit properly.

Shingan - Great against fat heroes or heroes you can get in close to in combination with Shuriken Mastery. Can also be useful for taking jungle camps as the single target burst is quite good. Combine with Cyber Agility to make full use of this. If you aren't confident that you can hit all 3 consistently or you don't want to get in close then take Double Jump as an alternative choice for for sustained range poke.

Reflect - Great against pretty much everything. Use it as I have described in the "threats" matchup to catch people by surprise by deflecting some of their burst back at them.

Zanshin - Turns your best defense into a good offense. I prefer this choice but you can take Sharpened Stars or Living Weapon as equally good choices if your enemies like to bunch up.
