Introduction: Top

Johanna, Able to take a hit and keep going on. Whether its her massive shield and armor or its her faith that keeps her alive this is one hero that can't be burst down easy.

Pros
    Strong defense/High health
    Variety of CC's (Stun/Slow/Blind)

Cons
Ether Defensive or offensive (with her talents its hard to be both)
Low effect time of CC's. (Stun 0.25 Seconds) (Slow Decays over a 2 second time span.) (Blind 1.5 Seconds)

Ability Overview: Top

Trait:
D Iron Skin Obtain a shield for 4 seconds and become unstoppable, One of the major downfalls of this ability is its long cool down so choose wisely when utilizing it.

Q Punish Slows enemy by 60% for 2 seconds, great skill to have when chasing down fleeing enemy's. Pull them in with Condemn and slow them down for your team to finish them off.

W Condemn Pull enemy's in towards Johanna and stun them, giving your team ample time to provide an AOE attack or even stop an enemy's ultimate attack.

E Shield Glare Deal a small amount of damage and blind your opponent forcing them to miss there next 2 attacks. Great for dealing with people that attack quickly or even blocking Nova's Anti-Armor Shells.

R Falling Sword Briefly become unstoppable leaping into the air and falling back down after 2 seconds knocking your enemy upwards. Great move to force yourself into the middle of a fight or to escape one. Only down side to this skill is no stun. If i feel like a battle is going south quick ill throw up Iron Skin for that little extra defense and then Falling Sword my way to safety.

R Blessed Shield Following in the foot steps of captain America Johanna throws her shield at the opponent temporarily stunning them and bouncing to 2 nearby enemy's. Pick wisely who you choose to stun, the first person hit is longer then the next two units.

Talents what i choose and why: Top

Level 1

Yes:
Regeneration Master With being a tank your key is surviving so why not choose something that would increase how quickly you heal, if you're lacking a healer this is more important your team needs you on the front lines healthy and good to go.

No:

Reinforce With you being a front line hero you're gonna be hit with a lot of ability's more so then basic attacks, Also with the long cool downs of her ability's it won't be as helpful further on in the match.

Knight Takes Pawn Great move if for clearing out waves of minions and mercenary's, The ability is only useful early game where mid to late game your team can clear minion waves with ease and you shrug off there attacks.

Righteous Smash Johanna isn't a mana starved hero unless you're spamming her ability's. Play smart and use your ability's sparingly and you won't have need for this talent.

Level 4

Yes:

Amplified Healing Giving the regeneration globes a boost to your healing over time ability's this one is a must coupled with your level 1 talent. After getting this as your level 4 not only will fountains heal you to almost full health but even other healers ability's will benefit from the boost as well.

No:

Roar Punish has a low attack damage to start with so this may tempting to give it a much needed boost. But your primary purpose is to stay alive not give out damage.

Eternal Retaliation You mostly will only be using Condemn to chase down fleeing opponents or pulling the enemy in for a group fight. By the end of any team fight Condemn should be ready for use again making this ability non essential.

Laws of Hope Activate the ability for a very small portion of health (20%) in 4 seconds, The passive isn't much better. With only +1 health Regen per level the Amplified Healing is a better choice.

Level 7

Yes:

Conviction Useful for catching fleeing hero's or just giving yourself that little extra boost to get outta the fight, Great move to combo up with an AOE team such as Jaina or Kael'thas.

Situational:

Battle Momentum If you feel like your party is lacking in CC this is a solid choice to invest into. With her unique ability's having them always at the ready isn't a bad idea. Keep in mind her ability's aren't terribly expensive as well.

No:

The Crusade Marches On With such a long CD for Iron Skin this one looks tempting but with her limited escapes Conviction is a good option here.

Sins Exposed With Shield Glare having a large AOE its not a terrible skill but one that must be used in very precise circumstances to be useful. With Johanna leading the way in battle its one that should be used just before the team fight begins (when the enemy is more likely to be grouped) making the blinding effect Shield Glare provides almost null and giving your team a risky time frame to capitalize on it.

Level 10

Yes:

Blessed ShieldGreat ultimate choice doing a moderate amount of damage and stunning your enemy for a 2 second time frame and then bouncing to 2 other opponents and stunning them for 1 second. The first opponent hit by the shield takes the full amount of damage and stun time while the next 2 units hit take half of both stun and damage. With its low cool down and mana this is a great initiator ult or even stopping enemy's from chasing your fleeing team.

Situational:

Falling Sword After a few seconds you leap up into the high heavens and can move around in a large circle doing 1 of a few things. Weather that's escaping a particularly bad scenario or one of my favorites initiating a team fight. Don't like those ideas well there's more! Cut off your enemy's escape or even jump behind enemy lines and force the squishes to try and put an end to your crowd control reign of terror. Great talent for a dual tank team where you are in the back/middle of the enemy while your other tank is protecting your front line.

Level 13

Yes:

Burning Rage Not a huge damage boost but defiantly helps with finding stealth and taking out Zagara creep. The damage over time does build up though with Johanna's talent pool, works well when dealing with squishier units forcing the enemy team in with Condemn then throwing Blessed Shield to capitalize on the damage over time Burning Rage dishes out.

No:

Subdue Not a terrible skill with its HUGE slow amount but with your pull in Burning Rage is just a hard talent to pass up for this one.

Spell Shield Another good defensive ability but with its LONG cool down and only applying to spells you're better off with Hold Your Ground.

Hold Your Ground A little extra boost to your already substantial shield and helps with the cool down of it making this a good choice but with Johanna's high health and defensive capability he shield isn't burst down so easily.

Level 16

Yes:

Imposing Presence With Johanna being in the front line she will be targeted constantly. With that you're gonna wanna keep yourself alive so by taking said skill you're keeping damage against you infrequent as you can. More so able to capitalize off this from auto attackers such as Valla/ Illidan/ Raynor/ The Butcherto name a few who have a relatively high attack speed.

No:

Holy Renewal Enemy hero's hit give you extra health, Not much of a boost since you're getting a 600 by the time you're hitting level 20. That's also if you're hitting all 5 enemy hero's so even under optimal conditions its not the best with Johanna's high health pool. Unless they change it to all targets or even make it a percentage this ones just to hard to justify.

Fanaticism Taking damage giving you a small speed boost, Great in fleeing scenarios but with Conviction coupled with Imposing Presence You're just as capable of fleeing from bad situations.

Blessed Hammer Another ability giving you a small amount of damage, since we're going for a tank build damage is not the priority.

Level 20

Yes:
Indestructible Amazing skill but with this build we're trying to avoid dying, If you find yourself running low on health often enough to justify this then solid choice.

Situational:

Heaven's Fury The damage adds up for this and getting you a chance to soften up your opponents and even lower the cool down make this skill one of my favorites if you choose Falling Sword for you ultimate and don't feel the need for Indestructible I highly recommend it.

No:

Radiating Faith Stunning a few extra units taking out there entire team. Its not a bad skill but id still go Indestructible if i chose Blessed Shield as my ultimate.

Storm Shield Decent skill with a huge AOE giving Johanna and the rest of her a team a shield that equals up to 20% of there maximum health pool its a good choice but with her other options its one that's best off left for another hero to nab.
