Introduction: Top

I'm a lvl 28 Cho and a lvl 37 gall , i've been loving cho'gall since he got released and i always loved his basic concept.When his rework came out i felt he has lost much of his former glory.The trait idea was nice as are some of his talents and base kit changes , but Cho'gall has gained little in comparison to what he lost.This rework focuses on bringing back old power from before the rework in combination with the new traits without making cho too op , or too weak.
Maybe you agree with this , maybe you don't but this rework is just a mere suggestion on how to fix cho'gall.
Any additional input is always appreciated.

The proposed rework : Summary Top

This rework rewards gall and cho players who are aware of their traits , it also allows gall to choose between survivability and utility over raw damage.

Cho players can choose between going full DMG or a healthy mix between utility and tankiness.

By tuning some numbers , and adding older talents in accordance with the new talents and traits should give him some of his glory back without making him too powerful.

The current problem is that cho'gall's HP has been reduced by 25 percent , single-target CC like Poly's still prove lethal to cho'gall and much of his survivability has been taken away.Giant-killer and similar talents
still are still too effective vs cho'gall because armour gets ignored anyways by percentage based damage.(Tychus's trait for example)

New changes to Cho'gall's base kit. Top

Radius of Gall's dread orb is reverted back to its original size (Increased radius by 20 percent)
Gall's shadowflame damage is increased from 135 -> 140
Gall's dread orb damage is increased from 119 -> 129
Cho'gall's model size increased by 0.75 (Lul)
Gall's Twisting Nether damage has been increased from 353 -> 362

Cho's Consuming Blaze has been slightly altered.

Consuming blaze keeps healing cho for as long its burning on all the affected targets.(5 secs)

This is to alleviate the lost of 25 percent of total health.

New Talents (gall) Top

In order to make the rework more clear , i have separated and listed down here all the talents on cho and gall's tier.

(removed) -> this talent is removed in the proposed rework. * -> this talent is changed ** -> Old talent thats been added and/or changed to fit current talent tree.


Tier 1

** Run , oaf! - Increase your speed by 60 percent for 3 secs. This is quite controversial as shove was always the one taken before the rework , now its changed :D.
(removed) Keep moving! - This talent is really bad , like ogre rampage. requires you to be constantly attacking which isn't always possible in a realistic situation.
Task master - A good talent if you want your shove to be more useful , and its actually quite versatile

Tier 2

*Double back - It automatically bounces back now , and dread orb deals 50 percent bonus damage vs non-heroic units(buildings + minions).
(removed)Runic persistence.Replaced by Siphoning runes
**Siphoning Runes - Rune bomb heals for 15 percent of the damage dealt by rune bomb.
Bombs away!-it's scaling damage makes it a nice talent to pick.Good for bomb builds.

tier 3

Double trouble - amazing talent that indirectly increases its DPS , and gives u nice damage output.
*Edge of Madness - Deal 20 percent damage to close targets , 10 percent to medium targets , and 0 bonus dmg vs distant targets.Using ogre rage doubles the bonus for 9 seconds. ( so around 3-4 shots )
**Shadowflare - Double the width of shadow flame , and slows targets by 20 percent for 2 secs(Does not stack , but stacks with other talents).Using ogre rage increases the duration by 0.5 and slow by 5 percent.(removed) Ogre rampage - this is the literal meaning of trash.

tier 4

Shadowbolt volley - Good single target DPS.
Twisting Nether - amazing synergy with upheaval and other heavy CC.

tier 5

searing shadows - moved to lvl 16

(New)** Spheres of Haste - Dread orb gives 30 percent movement speed for 1.5 secs .(Doesn't stack with itself)Using Ogre rage doubles the speed bonus and makes dread orb move 20 percent faster

Twilight nova - Good for zoning and vs melees , moved to lvl 16

*Rising dread - 2nd bounce deals 25 percent bonus damage , 3rd bounce deals 75 percent bonus damage. 3rd bounce's radius is increased by an additional 25 (Other orbs stay same size).

**Dreadshield - was an amazing tool for survivability.Gives a shield of 561 that lasts 5 secs

tier 6

Twilight nova - No changes

*searing shadows - No changes .Ogre rage increases additional damage by 1.5 ( for a total of 3.5 percent of a targets HP)

Deafening blast - good counter against combo's and mages.using ogre rage increases silence duration by 0.50 seconds

tier 7

shadow fury - Good for additional DPS and amazing AoE

*Nether Storm - Twisting nether no longer grants mobility . Charge twisting nether up to 5 secs increasing its damage for a total of 50 percent .Ogre rage reduces charge time by 1 sec

*Psychotic Break - This is a highly experimental idea.Death allows Gall to deal damage for 8 secs , ogre rage is triggered and ultimates are reseted.Gall can activate this to respawn after the 5 secs , but both cho'gall spawn with 50 percent HP and have their ultimates on CD.Has a 120 sec CD.

*Will of Cho - Will of gall has been changed and given to cho.Will of cho remains the same however.

Please keep in mind that the number tuning might cause gall to hit perhaps a bit too hard , feedback is appreciated.

New talents (Cho) Top

Tier 1

*Consuming Fire - additionally , grants a stack of block against psychical damage per hero hit.
*Fuel for the flame - Killing minions increase the duration of cho's consuming blaze by 0.03 secs , catching a regen globe causes the next consuming blaze to heal for an additional 75 percent.
Caloused hide - Not as bad as it looks actually.Gives extra healing indirectly , and good with double supports/strong burst heals.

Tier 2

Seared Flesh - No changes

Rollback - No changes

uppercut - Moved to lvl 13

**Surging dash - Increase speed and range by 25 percent.Using Ogre hide increases windup speed by 2 sec (Less wind-up time needed to charge at max distance)

Runed Gauntlet - Same function as before , Rune bomb increases cho's next basic attack damage by 75 percent.

tier 3

Firestarter - No changes
Power surge - passively increases width by 25 percent.
Enraged regeneration - No changes

tier 4

Twilight hammer - No changes

Upheaval - passively grant 20 percent damage reduction.

tier 5

Frenzied fists - No changes

Moltenblock - moved form lvl 16 to lvl 13

Runic feedback - No changes

tier 6

** Twilight Veil - Grants cho a stack of 50 percent ability damage reduction for every hero hit.
Each stack blocks 2 abilities.(No longer reduces heroic CD per AA.)

*Uppercut - Surging fist deals 7 percent bonus of an enemies total health.Ogre hide Double the bonus and reduces CD by 4 secs for every hero hit.

**Cripling Blow - heroes who get hit are slowed by 90 percent for 1.25 secs.Ogre Hide increased duration by an additional 0.50 secs.

tier 7

C'thun's gift - No changes

Favour of the Old Gods - No changes.

*Will of gall - Will of cho has been moved to gall.Using Will of Gall makes Cho'gall Immune to all damage for 2 seconds.

Hour of twilight - No changes

Epilogue:My opinion Top

With these changes in mind , i hope Cho'gall gets some of his former glory back without being too OP in that regard.Leave some feedbacks in the comments , and i hope blizzard can give our Ogres some good justice!
