Greymane - The Lord of the Worgen

Hi, I'm Kakaris and I have come to start playing Greymane a little bit later than most however I think that I understand the playstyle of the Hero and might be able to shed some light on exactly that for people weho aren't so sure.

Talent Choices Top

Level 1

Wolfheart This talent isn't awful but there is something that is just better as a whole in this tier. Situational

Perfect Aim The range increase is cool but due to choices that we have later on the range becomes unnecessary and the mana reduction is not needed. Not recommended

Scented Tincture This talent is completely pointless and there is pretty never a reason to take it. Not Recommended

Viciousness This is my choice for the tier as it means that in theory you could keep it up permanently. It is especially useful whilst hitting structures. Recommended

Level 4

Thick Skin This is a cool talent but the problem is that if we are getting focused really heavily this talent is not going to save us. The whole idea of our hero is getting into their backline and shredding the squishy's...This talent doesn't help us do that. Not recommended

Eyes in the Dark This talent is interesting and 4 seconds is actually quite a long time the only problem is that it doesn't do anything for our damage and to be honest that is all we really want. Not recommended

Insatiable A truly awful talent. Forget that it exists. Not recommended

Draught Overflow This talent is my pick for the tier as the range increase is required and we didn't pick it earlier when we had the choice with Perfect Aim and seeing as all of the other talents in this tier suck, now is the perfect time. Recommended

Level 7

Quicksilver Bullets This talent isn't bad at all but most of our damage isn't coming from our basic attacks in Human Form. Not recommended

Incendiary Elixir This is my chocie for the tier because it makes our Gilnean Cocktail do a really nice amount of damage especially to squishy targets. The fact that it explodes without hitting anyone also is a lot more useful than you might think. Recommended

Wizened Duelist This talent is actually really nice the only problem is that it will take a long time to stack and it is very likely that you will die at least once or twice throughout the game losing this bonus making the talent useless until you have had the chance to stack it up again. Not recommended

Level 10

Go for the Throat This talent is my choice of the two simply because it does a hell of a lot of damage and it just serves really well in finishing off a target and moving onto the next if you get the reset. Recommended

Marked for the Kill This talent just isn't as good as Go for the Throat as it doesn't do as much damage and it is also a skill shot so that does technically mean that there is a chance of missing which really isn't an option during an important teamfight. Not recommended

Level 13

Running Wild It's a pretty interesting talent but there are better options in the tier than this. Not recommended

Visceral Attacks This talent seems like it might be quite good because it reduces the cooldown of Razor Swipe but it requires worgen basic attacks which without something helping you stick onto the target is actually pretty hard to do. Not recommended

On the Prowl This is my choice for the tier as it allows you to stick onto a target and since we took Viciousness at Level 1 it means that Inner Beast is actually active for quite a long time so this bonus movement speed is up and running a lot of the time. Recommended

Unfettered Assault This talent is quite cool but the movement speed from On the Prowl is just better as a whole. Not recommended

Level 16

Concentrated Blast This talent causes a huge increase in the damage of Gilnean Cocktail and seeing as we have already picked up Incendiary Elixir it seems like the perfect choice for this build. Recommended

Relentless Predator This talent is actually really good and if you are against a team that really is giving you a hard time getting to the backline line due to CC feel free to pick it up instead of Concentrated Blast. Situational

Executioner This talent is just too situational, I struggle to think of a time where you should actually pick this talent. Not recommended

Alpha Killer This talent may have been good if it was for both Human and Worgen forms but seeing as it is only for Worgen it means that you actually won't get to put it to good use enough the time to make it worth taking it. Not recommended

Level 20

Unleashed This talent is nice but it is just quite rare that you would actually get to put it to good use. Not recommended

Gilnean Roulette We didn't pick Marked for the Kill so the option here is sort of a given. Not recommended

Hunter's Blunderbuss This is my choice for the tier as you will be using it without even realising it and it serves to be quite useful in the later stages of the game. Recommended

Tooth and Claw This is exactly the same as Hunter's Blunderbuss except that it is for Worgen basic attacks instead of Human but as I have explained throughout this guide you won't actually be auto attacking in Worgen form a lot of the time. Even if you did you have usually isolated your target and the cleave wouldn't become useful. Not recommended

Tips and Tricks Top

Just a last minute thing about Greymane

-Your job is to kill the squishy Heroes on the enemy team (safely if possible)
-Dance around the teamfight until you find the perfect opportunity to leap in and chow down
-Your rotation should be W Q E Q R in the perfect engagement this will kill almost any squishy in the game and allows you to get a reset on Go for the Throat
